What should be meditated upon as the Suchness? It is not to speak variously of the Suchness of faith and to have various kinds of conceptualizations. Furthermore, what is the supreme Suchness of that? Therefore, it is said, "I," and so forth. "I" is one's own mind. Its entity is that itself, from its very nature, it is said thus. "Those are one" and "That is it" are connected to the previous. "There is no other" means there is no second Suchness. How is that oneness? It is said, "Self-awareness," and so forth. Then, is emptiness the supreme Suchness? Thus, that is said to be the ultimate truth. Truth is Suchness. The ultimate of those is the principal, because there is no other meaning of Suchness more important than that. Therefore, is it contradictory to say that self-awareness is the supreme Suchness here? The so-called emptiness is not something else at all. There is no different nature between Dharma and Dharmata. However, the entity of the Dharmas that truly realize that, the Suchness, is merely the aspect of consciousness that is non-dual. That is also the supreme Suchness here. Since that is the supreme Suchness, it is said that self-awareness is the supreme Suchness. Therefore, what contradiction is there? Furthermore, among the Suchness to be objectified, emptiness is supreme, but the supreme Suchness of the objectifier and so forth is not. Moreover, self-awareness itself is the nature of the supreme Suchness of all Dharmas. Thus, truly knowing oneself is the supreme emptiness among the Suchness to be objectified, because seeing emptiness also means seeing nature. Therefore, the self-awareness of the objectifier itself is the supreme Suchness, but emptiness is not, because it is inanimate. Furthermore, among the others, the seven kinds of supreme Suchness, namely, the Suchness of result, the Suchness of cause, the Suchness of action, the Suchness of path, the Suchness of agent, the Suchness of power, and the Suchness of the pervasive lord, those are self-awareness itself. To show this, it is said, "Self-awareness."

Etcetera. The nature of being unparalleled, utterly pure, and perpetually blissful is great bliss, which is the very reality of the supreme fruit. Its explanation is "great bliss," which is to be combined with the term "self-awareness." The entity of that self-awareness is itself, meaning "its nature." Accomplishment is enlightenment, which arises from self-awareness itself. That itself is the very reality of the supreme cause, meaning "the one who generates accomplishment." The word "is" indicates that it must be grasped with certainty. Meditating on self-awareness itself, therefore, it is the very reality of the supreme path. The phrase "from the nature of self-awareness" means "from the very essence of self-awareness" is the very reality of the supreme action. If asked how it is action, it is from harm, etc. Therein, action is of two kinds: wisdom and complete abandonment. The exhaustion of afflictions and cognitive obscurations is abandonment. Wisdom is the nature of realizing all phenomena. From "harm from it," etc., this explicitly states abandonment, while wisdom is implied. In some texts, "from realization" appears, where wisdom and accomplishment are explicitly stated, while abandonment is implied. "Born from action" means becoming action, which is the very self-awareness. There is no agent of the path separate from the path; the path is the agent. A bodhisattva is the agent because he destroys those obscurations and generates wisdom. Therefore, the very reality of the agent is that the bodhisattva becomes supremely perfect, which is also said to be one's own awareness itself. The saying "one gathers oneself and one acts oneself" means that there is no agent other than that. To show that whatever is perfect in wisdom and abandonment is the supreme of all worlds, that is, the supreme of the lord of the world, and that is also itself, therefore, it is said, "one is oneself the king." Because that which is perfect in its own benefit is capable of perfecting the benefit of other sentient beings in all ways, therefore, that itself is the supreme of the pervasive lord, and that is also itself.
