The Prajnaparamita, with the supreme Bodhicitta as its essence, will give rise to the path that is the antidote to all obscurations. That antidote will completely exhaust the latent tendencies of all phenomena, including afflictions, accumulated in the alaya-vijnana (store consciousness). When the consciousnesses that appear as places, bodies, and enjoyments cease, all of that will abandon the nature of alaya-vijnana and fully embrace the nature of the unpolluted realm of reality. That very unpolluted realm of reality is the Dharmakaya of the Buddhas. When it is attained, the Sambhogakaya and Nirmanakaya will be attained in dependence upon it; this is the established tenet. With this established tenet, the Prajnaparamita itself should be cultivated as the cause of Buddhahood, and that is also because, through the distinction of two kinds of meaning, it truly becomes the wisdom of non-inherent existence, because it is certain that the two are inseparable. The two cause false appearances to vanish, and only appear as limitless clarity. Thus, if someone thinks that those who meditate on mantras, signs, cushions, palaces, and so on, which possess the forms of Heruka and Yoginis, are indulging in elaboration and are inverted, because they give rise to the cycle of afflictions and are not the cause of liberation, then, in order to clarify that point, it is said: "Things themselves are liberated." The meaning is that things are extremely abiding and can completely attain all the Buddha's teachings. Those who possess great compassion are liberated by the six paramitas themselves, and therefore it is called great compassion. Liberation by the Prajnaparamita alone quickly abandons afflictions and becomes an Arhat. Therefore, one will tend more towards the Bodhi of the Shravakas, and not towards the Bodhi of the Buddhas. The Bodhisattva who possesses great compassion accomplishes the supreme benefit of sentient beings and generates the aspiration for unsurpassed Bodhi, and not for inferior ones. That is also liberated by the six paramitas themselves, and not by one. If liberation is through the six themselves, then what will the five become at that time? What will the sixth do? To this, it is said: "Thing"

The so-called "bondage of the earth" and so on. Here, the five perfections are spoken of under the name of "things," because they themselves are the main things for abiding and attaining. The bondage of things themselves is abiding. Those who are bound by it and liberated also abide by the power of these, for the benefit of all beings, their continuum abides in the three bodies until the end of space. Fully knowing its things is knowing the ultimate truth, which is the perfection of wisdom itself. Liberated by it, and by it awakening all the obscurations of habit, is to completely exhaust all the pervasively afflicted dharmas, including the seeds. Such a state is nirvana, called non-abiding nirvana, because it does not abide in both samsara and nirvana. The summary spoken of is "things" and so on. "Things" refers to the virtue arising from the five perfections. "To be cultivated" means to diligently generate it in one's own mindstream, and through the power of cultivation, to possess oneself. "Knowing the absence of things" refers to the perfection of wisdom that knows the nature of the object of grasping and the grasper as the absence of things. If one does not treat things as things, then one will fall into the Bodhi of the Hearers because of liberation, and if one does not fully understand, then one will abide in samsara, both of which are ignorance. The Bodhisattva who possesses wisdom does both, and is therefore called "wise." This summarizes what the Great Vehicle should do, and distinguishes them. Since the Great Vehicle is also summarized by way of mantra, it also particularly explains the Vajra that pleases it, as it is said. The so-called "thus" and so on. "Heruka" refers to the main mention, so it also includes its signs, seat, mandala, and other retinues, just as saying "the king has passed away." The meaning here is that all the virtuous dharmas to be cultivated in the Great Vehicle become one with perfect Bodhi, which is the lord of the mandala, and the distinction of perfect Bodhi is the mandala. It itself is for the benefit of beings.
