It should also be done. That is the Bodhi of the Hearers and Solitary Realizers. Those words show this meaning: the Hearers and others, seeing suffering in samsara, abandon it, and later make efforts to prevent rebirth. The Four Noble Truths should be regarded as valid and practiced. That is, suffering should be understood, the origin should be abandoned, cessation should be realized, and the path should be cultivated. Therefore, the nature of the five aggregates should be examined. How should it be examined? For example, like disease and the cause of disease, freedom from disease and medicine. That is, suffering is like disease, the origin is like the cause of disease, cessation is like freedom from disease, and the path is like medicine. Thus, by examining the Four Noble Truths, eight wisdoms and eight patiences will arise. These are called the sixteen moments. That is the manifestation of transcendent wisdom, called the Path of Seeing. Since it is seeing what has not been seen, it is called the Path of Seeing. Since cessation is realized, it is called the Path. The moments there refer to knowing the Dharma of suffering, the patience of knowing the Dharma of suffering, knowing the Dharma following suffering, the patience of knowing the Dharma following suffering, knowing the Dharma of the origin, the patience of knowing the Dharma of the origin, knowing the Dharma following the origin, the patience of knowing the Dharma following the origin, knowing the Dharma of cessation, the patience of knowing the Dharma of cessation, knowing the Dharma following cessation, the patience of knowing the Dharma following cessation, knowing the Dharma of the path, the patience of knowing the Dharma of the path, knowing the Dharma following the path, and the patience of knowing the Dharma following the path, totaling sixteen. By cultivating the Path of Seeing in such a sequence, one will abandon the eighty-eight defilements and so forth that are to be abandoned by seeing in the three realms. The twelve to be abandoned by seeing suffering are: the view of permanence, the view of self, the view of annihilation, the view of the perishable collection, the view of holding moral discipline and asceticism as supreme, doubt, desire, and hatred.

Pride and ignorance. The seven to be abandoned by seeing the origin are constantly observing the higher one, clinging to self, and abandoning the view of the perishable aggregate, which means the seven to be abandoned by seeing the origin. The ones to be abandoned by seeing cessation are also the same. The six to be abandoned by seeing the path are desire, hatred, pride, ignorance, holding precepts and asceticism as supreme, and doubt. By seeing, the desire realm has thirty-two to be abandoned, and by meditating, there are four to be abandoned. Having abandoned them, one will not be reborn in the desire realm. Doubt, desire, hatred, pride, and ignorance. Apart from these, for those born in the form realm, there are thirty-one to be abandoned by seeing. It is the same in the formless realm. Having abandoned the eighty-eight or so to be abandoned by seeing, one is separated from the cause of being born in the three realms. Being separated from them means being separated from desire for the three realms. This is called the Buddha of the Hearers and the Buddha of the Solitary Realizer. Because they are separated from afflictions, they will not be born in samsara. Therefore, it is called Nirvana. It is like a fire being extinguished. If asked, what is the difference between a Hearer and a Solitary Realizer? Having heard the Perfectly Complete Buddha, the Hearer also becomes a Perfectly Complete Buddha. They teach the Dharma through these means, thereby subduing sentient beings. Because they are urged by others to listen, they are called Hearers. The Solitary Realizer Buddha is one who previously received and heard by himself, does not rely on the teachings of others, and understands enlightenment by himself, so he is called a Solitary Realizer. They abandon teaching through words, but through their body, they cause sentient beings to abide in the ten virtues. Its meaning is that one understands by oneself without relying on the teachings of others, and one becomes a Buddha oneself, so his wisdom is very profound. Therefore, he is called a Solitary Realizer. Clinging to the five aggregates, which are without self, as self and mine is called constant observation. Like this, clinging to the aggregates, etc., which are without self, as self, and calling constant observation clinging to self. Do not harm others.
