This is called, at that time, viewing all beings of the nature of suchness, which is inseparable from purity, is not delighted to attain the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. This is the explanation of the ninth chapter from 'The Difficult Commentary on Hevajra, The Source of Memory' composed by Master Krishnacharya. Chapter Ten, Explanation of the Chapter on Mandala and Empowerment. Without realizing the mandala, empowerment should not be given. Without realizing empowerment, suchness should not be shown. Therefore, empowerment preceded by the mandala is taught. "Then," etc., "by the nature of the deity" means by the nature of the two-armed Heruka. The characteristics of the place for drawing the mandala are taught. "Garden," etc. Regarding "There is knowledge," etc., previously the distinctions of mudras were taught for the sake of practice, but now the distinctions of mudras are shown for the purpose of perfecting the empowerment. "Five families," etc., here it is shown that empowerment is to be performed together with many mudras arising from the lotus family, etc., within the mandala of the completely pure assembly of yellow, etc. Therefore, in order to pacify the mind that is initially generated with weak faith and without joy, preceded by a pleasing mind, it is desired to cover their faces. The wisdom of wisdom is taught. "Arising from self-awareness," etc., is the limit of supreme joy. "Wisdom" means the nature of being extremely clear by oneself. "Abandoning the knowledge of self and other" means that knowledge that grasps at self and other, etc., does not abide. Because there is no obstruction, it is equal to space. Because it is free from all faults, it is free from dust. Because the aspect of complete imputation is not observed, it is emptiness. "From the nature of existence and non-existence," etc., because of the nature of self-awareness, it is an existent. Because it is liberated from all conceptualizations, it is a non-existent. Because it is unsurpassed, it is supreme. By the nature of emptiness and compassion, skillful means and wisdom are completely mixed. It is the limit of supreme joy, and because it is the very beginning of complete joy, it is attachment.
