If asked, what does this mean? Therefore, it is said (in the scripture): Initially, it appears like a cloud; when accomplished, it becomes like an illusion; suddenly, it appears like a dream; like sleep and wakefulness are indistinguishable. This refers to the fact that when initially practicing the mandala, it is like a cloud. Clouds in the center of the sky accompany other clouds, with a nature of non-objectification, nothing exists. Similarly, the mandala is also a gathering of deities, without objectification, yet capable of objectification, and each appears separately. When it is accomplished and manifestly appears, it is like an illusion. Just as the manifest accomplishment of an illusion is not real. Similarly, the mandala is also like an illusion, neither real nor false. When each appears separately, then it will be accomplished. At that time, it should be thoroughly understood that all the deities have appeared. Suddenly refers to a moment. From that moment on, it is like a dream. Just as a dream is not real in all aspects, yet one can truly experience it there, similarly, it appears like a dream. Therefore, like sleep and wakefulness are indistinguishable, the moment of sleep and the moment of awakening are also like being indistinguishable, just as there is no difference. Just as some people can see themselves awake in a dream, similarly, with wisdom, one knows all this as it is, like a dream. What does this mean? Or, initially, it appears like a cloud. Initially refers to non-dual wisdom. It appears like a cloud, the nature of appearance that is spoken of is the nature of non-objectification. With its nature, wisdom will appear as things. When it is accomplished and manifestly appears, it will be like an illusion. Like an illusion refers to the Bodhicitta of Mamaki (Tibetan: མཱ་མ་ཀཱི་, Sanskrit Devanagari: मामाकी, Sanskrit Romanization: māmakī, Chinese literal meaning: Mamaki). A (Tibetan: ཨ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A) is selfless, Ma (Tibetan: མ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: मा, Sanskrit Romanization: mā, Chinese literal meaning: Ma) is happiness, semen and Va (Tibetan: བ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: व, Sanskrit Romanization: va, Chinese literal meaning: Va) is happiness, the two are inseparable. A (Tibetan: ཨ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Chinese literal meaning: A) is also the wisdom that has transformed in this way. Wherever it exists, it is like an illusion, and it will be perfected. If asked why? It is because it will surely be accomplished. It has transformed in this way, suddenly refers to a moment. That moment appears like a dream. That is also wisdom, if wisdom clings to appearance, then it is without clinging. That is it.

For this reason. Just as there is no difference between sleeping and waking, there is no difference between the collection of sleep and the arising of joy in waking, just like there is no difference, it is for the sake of union. That is the meaning. For this very reason. If the nature of non-duality is not established, how can the mudra yogi achieve it? To indicate the nature, that which is not established is the nature not established. How is it? Because of non-duality. If the nature is not established from the cause of non-duality, then the Mahamudra itself, whatever is united and gathered, that will surely be achieved. Or, mudra and yoga are also mudra yogis, that is, Vajradhara who is non-dual with the selflessness mother. It will be achieved and perfected. The meaning of conventional truth is: if the nature of non-duality is completely established, it is established in all aspects, that is, it is completely established. The nature of non-duality itself is the nature of non-duality. For example, clouds, illusions, magic, and dreams, etc., when they become the nature of non-duality, at that time they will become mudra yogis, and they will be achieved from that. If the teacher spoke of this mandala, from this cause the teacher entered for the benefit of beings. He spoke of the mandala, because without understanding the mandala there is no accomplishment of mudra. That mandala is also like a cloud, etc., through these it becomes non-dual, thereby obtaining accomplishment. He spoke of that mandala itself: square, truly blazing. The four doors have great glory. Decorated with half necklaces. Possessing various banners and whisks. Beautifully decorated with eight pillars. Possessing equal vajra threads. Beautifully decorated with various flowers. Offerings with incense and lamps. Possessing eight vases, etc. That also has branches and tips. The neck is bound with cloth. Five kinds of jewels are completely placed. The Victorious Mother bestows the east. Everything is easy to understand. In the completion stage, square refers to the nature of the four joys. True joy refers to luminosity. The four doors refer to these four methods of entering the realm of existence. Great glory refers to everything.

Everything is empty. Adorned with necklaces and half-necklaces. Just as pearls and other jewels are strung on a single thread, so too are the five wisdoms and three bodies, and other various jewels, bound separately because they are non-dual. A garland is a garland of flowers. A variety of whisks are whisks of various colors. Similarly, a garland is like various flowers of many kinds gathered together, so too are various kinds and various colors absorbed into it. Possessing garlands and various whisks. That is what it means. Adorned with eight pillars. Adorned with eight pillars because the eight doors of liberation are completely pure. Vajra and thread are equally possessed. Vajra mind and thread Avadhūti (Sanskrit: Avadhūti, IAST: Avadhūti, literal meaning: one who has shaken off). They are equal and non-dual, therefore they are universally united and gathered. Adorned with various flowers. Flowers are the mind of enlightenment. "Various" refers to sentient beings belonging to the six realms. Because they are the seeds of these, they are adorned with flowers, from which all sentient beings belonging to the six realms are born. What other differences are there? Fragrance refers to wisdom, the nature of realization. What is the difference? Incense refers to the nature of burning, the essence of no-self. Lamp refers to the clarity of light from the nature of appearance. Possessing refers to union, the inseparability of wisdom and means. Eight vases and so on are Kalanāda (Sanskrit: Kalanāda, IAST: Kalanāda, literal meaning: the sound of Kala). Śya (Sanskrit: Śya, IAST: Śya) makes it subtle, therefore the fourth vase is inseparable from Vajradhara. The word "eight" refers to the eight dakinis, and eight and vases are also eight vases. They themselves are the main cause of whatever is first, possessing those causes. Possessing is the mandala itself, inseparable from wisdom and means. Those vases also have branch tips, and their necks are bound with cloth, making the meaning easy to understand in conventional truth. In ultimate truth, they are the nature of the five wisdoms and three bodies, and are vases because they hold bliss. Now, for the sake of themselves, they are branch tips, and the word "branch" is because it is similar to a branch.
