I am emptiness. External dharmas, such as forms and other objects, are external emptiness because forms and others are empty of themselves. Internal dharmas, such as the eyes, are internal-external emptiness because they are empty of external dharmas, such as forms and other objects, and because internal dharmas, such as the eyes, are also empty. All dharmas are empty of all dharmas by emptiness, therefore it is emptiness of emptiness. The directions, such as the east, are great emptiness because the directions, such as the east, are empty of themselves. The ultimate truth is nirvana, and because it is empty of nirvana, it is the emptiness of ultimate truth. The desire realm, the form realm, and the formless realm are conditioned, and because they are empty of themselves, they are the emptiness of the conditioned. That which is empty of birth, cessation, and so on is unconditioned, and because it is empty of itself, it is the emptiness of the unconditioned. What, then, is the emptiness that transcends extremes? That which has no extreme that can be pointed out is that which transcends extremes. Because that which transcends extremes is empty of that which transcends extremes, this is said to be the emptiness that transcends extremes. What, then, is the emptiness that is without beginning or end? That which has no beginning and whose end is not seen has no middle. That which has no beginning, no middle, and whose end is not seen is without beginning or end, and because it is empty of itself, it is the emptiness that is without beginning or end. What, then, is the emptiness that is without abandonment? The abandonment of any dharma is the abandonment of joy and abandonment. That which is not so is without abandonment, and because it is empty of itself, it is the emptiness that is without abandonment. Whatever is the nature of conditioned and unconditioned dharmas is the emptiness of nature because it is empty of itself. The aggregates of form and so on are empty of their own characteristics, such as form, and so on, and therefore are the emptiness of their own characteristics. All dharmas are the five aggregates and so on, and because they are empty of themselves, they are the emptiness of all dharmas. Because there is no attachment to the future in past dharmas, no attachment to the past in future dharmas, no attachment to the present or past in present dharmas, and no attachment to the present in past and future dharmas.

Because there is no observation, it is emptiness. The nature of dharma is unreal union, because it is dependent arising, so it is union. Because that union is emptiness, the nature of non-things is emptiness, because union is separated from nature, so it is the nature of non-things. Things are the five aggregates of close grasping, and that thing is also emptiness because things are emptiness. Non-things are unconditioned, because that is emptiness, so non-things are emptiness. One's own thing is the undeluded nature, because that is emptiness, so one's own thing is emptiness. Whether the Tathagatas appear or do not appear, the dharma nature of all dharmas abides only in this way, that is, the abiding nature of dharma and the determined nature of dharma, as well as suchness and non-erroneous suchness, and non-other suchness, and the true limit. That which is empty is the emptiness of other things, because there is no other thing in that. Here, only sixteen emptinesses are grasped, and four emptinesses should be observed internally. Because the demons are purified, the feet are purified, the skandha demon is the one who holds the form of Brahma. The klesha demon is the form of a yaksha. The death lord demon is the form of Yama. The son of the gods demon is the form of Indra. Having gained victory over these, the four demons are completely purified, hence the four feet. The eight doors of liberation are completely purified as eight faces, that is, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, and the characteristic of self-luminous nature, contemplating ugliness, etc., are the eight doors of liberation, those completely purified, hence the faces are completely purified. Having form Viewing form as emptiness, viewing internal form as emptiness, viewing external form as emptiness, viewing all places as emptiness, viewing the sphere of infinite space as emptiness, viewing the sphere of infinite consciousness as emptiness, viewing the sphere of nothingness as emptiness, viewing the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception as emptiness. The eyes are body, speech, and mind completely pu
