Pa la. The four co-emergent ones. Why is that? Because the co-emergent itself follows the four joys, with distinctions such as small and medium. From the aspect of the completion stage, from the generation stage, the co-emergent does not follow. That is because the place is fixed. The first joy is the hero. The hero is Hevajra. That is the nature of joy and the nature of bliss. Therefore, the co-emergent is wisdom. The nature of joy is the supreme joy. From those, whatever arises as supreme joy, that joy is the nature of co-emergence, which encompasses all without exception. It knows all through the means of bliss. That is, as a means of bliss that arises now, it enables the attainment of all understanding and all knowledge. Or, the joy of supreme joy is the third joy. 'Without exception' means pervading all bodies. Again, 'It knows all through the means of bliss' means that the third joy is the fourth of the means. 'Knows all' means the nature of omniscience, encompassing all, distinguishing, what is the meaning of the nature of Vajrasattva? Or, all is the nature of the five aggregates, the Tathagata encompasses, it is the nature of emptiness. Awareness is also the nature of great bliss co-emergent, it is self-awareness, therefore it knows all. I, in the aspect of the awareness of generation, the place of the co-emergent is fixed, elsewhere it is also said to be true. A small portion of joy and bliss. Thus it is said. The remaining co-emergent joy, the remaining is the essence of co-emergent joy. Therefore, that should be universally practiced in the completion stage. For the sake of clarifying that, first one desires to realize. Thus it is said. The supreme joy is guarded in samsara. That is, bliss with an object is it. Nirvana is devoid of joy. That is, the nature of being free from desire, it is joylessness. The Middle Way has a joyful nature. That is, the center of joy alone is not the meaning of the Middle Way arising excellently. Or the center of the supreme and joylessness, etc.

It is merely joy, merely the bliss of co-emergence. This refers to the nature of cessation that does not abide in samsara and nirvana. It is precisely because of co-emergence that it is said "this" and "abandonment," and the cessation of discursive thoughts and the like is "abandonment." Desire itself and freedom from desire, becoming mixed, are without conceptualization. Likewise, desire and freedom from desire, in a single instant, become of one taste. Thus it is said. Therefore, in all ways, through the stages of generating with the action seal, co-emergence itself is mainly considered. It should be meditated upon, accomplished, and also examined. Then, by what means can it be obtained? To this it is said: Co-emergence is not from the explanation of others. This means that it is not from the explanation of other lamas and the like, because it is not something that can be expressed in words. Nowhere is it obtained through teachings and the like, because it cannot be taught. If that is the case, then listening and learning after pleasing the lama and so forth would be meaningless? No, one will know for oneself, one will obtain for oneself. However, even then, is it the case that one will obtain this in all ways? No, it is said: Merit and, after pleasing the lama, through transmission by means. That is, through two causes. Even then, how will one know for oneself? It is said: The meaning of this is, first pleasing the lama and so forth, accumulating the collection of merit, knowing through the lineage of the lama, and then through permission and diligence, co-emergence will arise from oneself. It cannot be obtained merely by hearing and accumulating merit, or without cause. Then, how should the teaching be shown through the method of the lama's lineage? To this it is said: Inferior, middling, and excellent ones. That is to say, in order to explain the meaning of this, it is said: The inferior is the meaning of the subtle place. Among them, the inferior is the subtle particle and wisdom and so forth. The excellent is, mountains and oceans and so forth. The intermediate is pots and woolen cloth and so forth. What are the stable and the moving? These are spoken of by it. All of these are all of these. "Equally" means that it should be observed.
