Just by looking, he saw five hundred treasures, and all the other kings also sent many gifts to his father, King Śuddhodana's son. Therefore, his father named him "Sarvārthasiddha," and therefore he is so glorious. Auspiciousness within auspiciousness is auspiciousness, meaning to destroy sins. From where does it come? It is said in the scriptures: Because he is the abode of all merits and good foundations. In this way, in all ways, all states, and with the wishes and fruits of seeing and hearing, the wishes of the Blessed One are praised. The explanation of the praise of wishes, the ninth chapter is completed. Chapter Ten Explanation of the Praise of Entering the Path ༄༅།། The praise of entering the path has seven divisions, which will be explained in the explanation. Among them, two verses will be explained: "You urge the lazy, punish the thieves, correct the deceitful, encourage the slow, guide the tamed onto the path, and remain neutral to the stubborn. Therefore, you are the supreme helmsman of taming men." You urge the lazy, that is, what will be explained by "the supreme helmsman." For example, just as the best helmsman whips the horses of the chariot that do not want to take even one step, similarly, you also teach those who remain in samsara due to laziness with the suffering of samsara and the merits of nirvana, and urge them with the practice of generating calm abiding, meaning to lead them onto the path of nirvana. Just as from one path to another, the horses are pulled by the reins and the helmsman punishes them, similarly, you also punish those who are to be tamed who are in the evil path with the reins of teaching the Dharma, meaning to lead them onto the good path. Just as the deceitful, that is, those horses that go astray, are corrected by the helmsman and guided onto the right path.

Nadu. You also place those who are deceitful and those who are to be tamed on the right path. Just as one slowly tames horses, you encourage those who lack effort by showing them diligence. Kungawo, relying on diligence, in order for those good horses to bear the special burden on the road, you place them on the path. Similarly, for those who are to be tamed, such as the son of Sharadvati, you also place them on the path that possesses the special qualities needed for taming. Similarly, when Shariputra was in Shravasti, at the request of the masses, the Holy Shariputra, in the Jeta Grove, led the heretics to the right path and caused the masses of Shravasti to realize the truth. Just as you said. Like this one ༄། །verse, with the generation of tranquility as a prelude, leads into the holy path. This is the explanation of the first distinction. Just like unruly wild horses, those untamed horses, you take a laissez-faire attitude towards their taming, similarly, for those unruly people who have not yet planted the seeds of Bodhi, your laissez-faire attitude is not to lead them into the right path. Because they have not yet reached the time to be tamed. This is not because you do not have compassion. To sentient beings with the seed of liberation You give the hand of instruction With compassion, from evil destinies and samsara You liberate them Like this verse, it explains that for those who do not have the seed, you will let them be until that time. This is the explanation of the second distinction. Furthermore, You have compassion for the afflicted You delight in benefiting those who are at ease With compassion, you treat the impoverished You wish to benefit all beings You have compassion for the afflicted This sentence is an extensive explanation. The afflicted refers to those who have severed their roots of virtue and engage in misconduct, you generate compassion for them, intending to free them from evil deeds. Those who are at ease refer to those whose roots of virtue are growing and who possess merit.

Being pleased for the sake of benefit, because it is only the essence, liberation is explained by the sound of benefit. Here, "pleased" means intention, its nature is being pleased for benefit, meaning striving towards liberation. Monks, contemplate! Do not be heedless. Being in a state of poverty means poverty in terms of views, the roots of virtue are completely severed. Compassion is merely focused on benefit, because there is no merit, so there is no effort to give. Wishing to benefit all beings refers to those who are contrary, such as Devadatta, and those who are attached to giving food to the helpless, wishing to benefit all of them, which is to consider for the sake of attaining heaven and liberation. Such a classification distinguishes between benefit and non-benefit, and wishing to benefit all beings, this is an explanation of three differences. Furthermore, you are loving even to enemies, you help those who have fallen, you have compassion for the violent, you are a wonderful noble person! In the saying "You are loving even to enemies," enemies are those who cause harm, such as Devadatta. The Blessed One is loving to those enemies, because out of compassion, he completely protects them from suffering. Therefore, the scriptures say that Devadatta, who was afflicted by a painful disease, had his painful disease removed by the power of the Blessed One's truth. "Helping" means the passing away of the Blessed One. "This is introducing into the Dharma." "To the fallen" refers to the cause of the fall. Fallen means that which should be condemned, because the actions are contrary to the worldly. For example, it was heard that a youth named Dṛḍhāvasthita, who lived by scavenging in the garbage heaps of the city of Śrāvastī, was ordained after the Blessed One passed away. The people of Śrāvastī became very distrustful of Buddhism, saying, "Even such a bad person is ordained." Then, King Prasenajit went to Jetavana to make the Blessed One feel regret.
