For your mind, which is first acknowledged, considering the attainment of Arhatship and making it complete, your mind does not change due to attachment. It does not become attached to those things either. Similar to this, what is there to praise in you who possess wonderful qualities? What is the use of other excellent praises? Such praise does not exist, that is its meaning. Other wonderful things are also to be told: You are not attached to qualities, nor do you cling to those who possess qualities. Alas! Your mental strength is extremely pure. You are not attached to qualities. As it is said, qualities refer to strength and fearlessness, etc. In the state of a Bodhisattva, qualities are not regarded as mere grass, and one is not attached to them, that is, one has not become attached, in order to abandon them. Those qualities that are the cause make sentient beings possess qualities, therefore they abide in diligence. There is no clinging to those, that is, even to those who possess qualities such as meditation, there is no clinging of afflictions. Therefore, alas! Extremely, among which, alas! refers to the wonderful. You are yours. Extremely refers to what was said earlier, in a way that is free from the defilements of desire, etc. Mental strength refers to the mind. Completely pure means free from defilements. The faculties are extremely subdued. With this verse, this wonderful thing is also to be told: The faculties are extremely subdued. They never decline at any time, your mind is always subdued and pure, existing as if manifestly apparent. The support of the supported, the near grasping, the faculties that rely on the eyes, etc., those are extremely subdued, that is, without defilement, because they are free from the change of countenance caused by anger, etc. As said by the Brahmin of pure birth, the eyes of the Blessed One Gautama are extremely subdued, the color of the face is pure, and the color of the body is white, that is because the faculties are subdued. For example, O Gautama! Just as a lump of gold of the nature of the Jambu River gold, when polished by a skilled goldsmith and placed on a white cloth, is very conspicuous, light,

As clearly stated in the original text, the Lord Gautama's senses are pure, which is called great joy, as mentioned before. "Times are always undiminished," which means having the nature of being constantly undiminished, is a synonym for "at all times." "Mind" means mind. "Always joyful" means always pure. "As it appears" is like, if the mind is not pure, the senses will not be pure. As it is said, "If there is fire in an empty stomach, trees will not produce leaves." Therefore, the purity of the mind can be inferred from the purity of the senses. Because others cannot know the purity of his mind, "like" is a metaphor. Next, other wonderful things will be described: "Noble nature, well spoken, actions proclaimed by good deeds, your wisdom and thoughts, pure and spread among children." This is an extensive explanation. "Among children" means even starting from children. "Spread" means widely spread. "Your" means yours. What is it? Wisdom and thoughts are the wisdom of fearlessness, etc., because it is the nature of wisdom.
