This verse explains it. The two verses, "You are not many times," will explain the state of the third patience: You are not many times, even if cut, you do not think of suffering, for the sentient beings who act as executioners, the Lord has become compassionate. Your mind is a jewel, the seed of perfect enlightenment. Only you, the brave one, truly understand its essence, others cannot comprehend it. What is called "what" is said to be compassion. "Not thinking of suffering" means that you did not take the torment to heart. "Cut" should be understood as with swords, etc. In order to observe how patience is spoken of, like the practitioner dwelling in the forest, in order to see the king's consort who came near, he taught the Dharma, and the king, angered by jealousy, had his ears, hands, and feet cut off with a sword by a disputant. Or it can be combined with "cut by suffering." "Not thinking" should be understood as one's own life. Like becoming a turtle, in order to save the merchants whose ships were wrecked in the great ocean, he carried them on his back to the shore. He became very sleepy from exhaustion, and ants ate him all over. He woke up from his deep sleep, and fearing that the ants would die, he did not move at all, and died on the shore. Similarly, the Jataka tale of the six-tusked elephant can also be exemplified. "Cut" means to be cut into pieces. "Not many times" means many times. "For the sentient beings who act as executioners" means for those who kill. "Compassion" means to think of them as doctors. Compassion itself is compassion, like the four castes, etc. "Become" means to become. "Lord" is because you are the master of all qualities, so it is an address to the Bhagavan. What is said in the third state, I think this praise is very wonderful. What is so wonderful about it? Because in the first state, that "I" who is under the control of afflictions.

It is called enduring torment. The second is that those executioners are beneficial to me. The third situation is that not only was he cut many times, but he did not waver in the slightest and endured, and he also generated compassion for the executioners, thinking: Do not suffer in the future because of hurting me, I will destroy their afflictions. Like this, generating compassion for them, therefore, the rarity is praised here. Not speaking of one's own suffering, but striving to pacify the suffering of others. Therefore it is said: The seed of perfect Bodhi. This is an extensive explanation. Perfect Bodhi is the Tathagata lineage, which is the characteristic of the wisdom of extinction and non-birth. Its seed is the cause, that is, the seed of perfect Bodhi. What is its nature? It is said that the mind is a jewel. The nature of mind is a jewel, because it can save all sentient beings, and it is certainly more rare than wealth. The so-called "that" refers to having compassion for the executioners. You are you. You are the only one, not others. The so-called hero refers to addressing the Bhagavan as having such ability. Or, in order to save all sentient beings, he has the excellence of diligence. The so-called knowing its essence refers to the seed of perfect Bodhi, the essence of compassion, that is, the Tathagata's wisdom that is unobstructed to all knowable things, knowing its essence, that is, corresponding only with you. Not being moved refers to not being an object of practice. The so-called "that" refers to the essence. Other beings refer to Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Bodhisattvas, etc. In short, it is not the object of practice of Shravakas, etc. After truly praising the Paramita of Patience with these three verses, the Paramita of Diligence of the Bhagavan is praised with the verse "Without performing austerities": Without performing austerities,

I am difficult to find and obtain. Therefore, without even looking at yourself, you have diligently propagated. What has not been done is simply not done. From asceticism, one must accomplish through hardship. If asked what it is like, it is said: The so-called "position is difficult to find and obtain" means that it will be obtained through hardship. The so-called "position" is the wisdom of the Tathagata for the sake of protecting all sentient beings, because it is the basis of all benefits. Having generated such a thought, what did you do? It is said: The so-called "therefore, without even looking at yourself" means not even considering your own life. Diligence is characterized by joy in virtuous dharmas. The so-called "well propagated" means especially guiding, which refers to the intention. For example, the king of the deer herd, seeing the hunter diligently chasing and the king with his army, carried the deer herd on his back and crossed the turbulent river. The hooves of the deer herd were sharp, bleeding, and their bodies were completely pierced. Although they suffered the pain of broken joints, they also saved a fawn that had not crossed the river. Such asceticism can be taken as an example. Furthermore, "to make it superior" is an extensive explanation. To make it superior, you have not had the slightest laziness. Therefore, your merits have no difference in order from the beginning. The so-called eliminating faults, accumulating merits, and benefiting sentient beings are superior. Being superior through these means becoming superior. Among them, the so-called "laziness" is the determination of diligence. You have not had the slightest laziness, and even if you fall into the lower realms, there is not the slightest pause. For example, when worldly people know the prophecy, they generate the first dhyana and think that they will do things with this self, and they will become superior, but you have not done so. For this reason, having attained enlightenment, and being superior, you, whether it is great compassion, etc., have no lack from the beginning, meaning that there is no interruption. In this way, all merits have reached the ultimate of being superior.
