It became so. Therefore, she made a noisy sound and, with a seductive posture, made it seem as if she was slowly descending. He became very angry and went and said: "In this place near me, This woman with a seductive posture, Why does she walk around without restraint? Her behavior is bad, her sins are great!" Having said that, he took her and drank her. Later, Bhagoratha pleased that hermit with asceticism, and the hermit vomited. That thing came out from there and spread unhindered in all directions, filling the underground, and washed away the remnants related to the sons of the poisonous one. It is said that that thing also transferred them from hell to heaven. Therefore, it should be added that "sixty thousand sons of the poisonous one were burned." The "Great Self" is called the "Great Self" because it possesses greatness itself. It possesses virtues such as very abundant enjoyment. Who is that? The one called "Poisonous," that is, the king called "Ocean," is called "Poisonous." Who? "Sixty thousand sons," that is, his sixty thousand sons. With what? "With Serkya (Golden Yellow)," meaning that it is the pervading one existing in the form of Serkya (Golden Yellow). How? "Just by looking," meaning with eyes tormented by anger. What was done? "Burned," meaning turned into ashes. Regarding that, it refers to the sixty thousand sons of the ocean. Or, regarding that, it refers to that which separates life. "You are compassionate" means that he generated the kind of compassion that you need. Moreover, the Tathagata never abandons the lineage of great compassion, as it is said: "The compassionate mind dwells in compassion, and constant peace dwells in the eyes. Even a moment of patience cannot be separated from you. It is so beautiful that for a long time, the mind has been completely captivated by it. However, your fame, which seems to be without desire, is growing more and more." Some praisers say this. "Serkya (Golden Yellow) itself is wisdom," and so on. Everything that is liberated from the lord arises, and so on.

This is the discourse on the ascetic Kapila. It is heard that in the first kalpa, when the lifespan of beings was immeasurable, there arose a Brahmin named Kapila, who dwelt in a place of practice and attained sole liberation through the excellence of asceticism. In order to show others the proper path, he composed treatises. He explained the meaning of two fundamental entities: Prakriti (primordial nature) and Purusha (Self). Of these, Prakriti has three qualities: Sattva (energy), Rajas (passion), and Tamas (inertia), and is the agent, the mutable, and the non-sentient. Purusha, on the other hand, is the sentient, the enjoyer, the eternal, and the equal. How is it said that Prakriti is the agent? The state in which the qualities of Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas are in equilibrium, the state of part and whole, is Prakriti. Furthermore, when any one of these three slightly strives and becomes indistinct, it is called 'Mahat' (the Great). From that slightly grosser 'Mahat' arises Ahamkara (ego), and from that kind of transformation, transformation occurs. From Ahamkara, eleven faculties further transform: the five faculties of cognition, namely eye, ear, nose, tongue, and body; the five faculties of action, namely hand, foot, speech, excretion, and generation; and the mind. From the five 'thatnesses' the five great elements fully transform: from the 'thatness' of sound arises space; from touch and mixed sound arises wind; from form and the mixture of the previous two arises fire; from taste and the mixture of the previous three arises water; from smell and the mixture of the previous four arises earth. Thus, there are twenty-four suchnesses. Purusha is the twenty-fifth. When one cannot distinguish 'this is a quality, this is Purusha,' then Purusha and quality become combined. For example, it is like a lustful man and a leprous woman dwelling together with joy and affection in a room enveloped by the darkness of night. When one knows that the qualities and the agent, the mutable, are distinct, then this Purusha never mingles with them.
