Furthermore, at the same time, the nature of mind is primordially and completely pure, and also, because it is temporarily afflicted by adventitious stains, it is also endowed with complete defilement. Therefore, it seems that two contradictory things gather on one basis, which is inconceivable. Because, believing in the profound Dharma is not the realm of practice for Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. Thus, in the Sutra Requested by Shri Mala it says: Goddess, these two dharmas are difficult to realize, the mind's self-nature is difficult to realize as luminous, and it is difficult to realize that the mind itself is nearly defiled. Goddess, those who listen to these two dharmas are you Bodhisattvas who possess the great Dharma. Goddess, the remaining Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas can only realize these two dharmas through faith in the Tathagata. Thus it is said. The meaning of the stainless Tathagatagarbha Bodhi is: Previously, there was not even a little bit of complete defilement by adventitious stains, and from the habit of practicing the path, later it will become completely pure from all stains, therefore, it seems contradictory, which is inconceivable. Because, the mind is self-luminous by nature, that is known as it is. Therefore, with the wisdom of a moment, one attains complete and perfect enlightenment of unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. Thus it is said. The meaning of the stainless Buddha qualities is: The qualities of the ten powers and so on, the qualities of true meaning, etc., even in the state of ordinary beings who are completely accompanied by defilement, there is also the nature of Dharma without distinction, and because it is not manifest, it seems contradictory, which is inconceivable. In the Avatamsaka Sutra it says: For whom, there is no sentient being in the category of sentient beings in whom all the wisdom of the Tathagata has not entered, but because of the clinging of consciousness, the wisdom of the Tathagata does not appear. From being free from the clinging of consciousness, the self-born wisdom of omniscient wisdom arises without obstruction. It's like that. The activity of the Victorious One, the meaning of activity is: effortlessly and spontaneously accomplished, and at all times

It also fulfills the wishes of sentient beings according to their capacity without interruption. Because it does not conceive of things like, "Do this, do that," it appears contradictory, but it is inconceivable. As stated in the Sutra Requested by King Dhāraṇīśvararāja: "Son of lineage, this should be understood in this way: the activity of the Tathāgata is inconceivable, having attained equality, being without fault in all ways, making the lineage of the Three Jewels, which are connected to the three times, uninterrupted. The body of the Tathāgata, which is deeply involved in inconceivable activity, does not abandon the nature of space, and shows itself in all Buddha-fields. It also does not abandon the inexpressible nature of reality, and as it knows all sounds, it also teaches the Dharma to sentient beings. Its mind is free from all fixations, and it also knows well the conduct and thoughts of the minds of all sentient beings." Thus it is said. The classification of cause and condition: From these four places of meaning, all that is knowable is included. Among them, the element with defilements, which is naturally pure, is the place to be realized. Bodhi, free from all defilements, is the place of the nature of realization itself. The qualities related to Bodhi are the place of the limbs of that realization. The power of qualities, activity, is also the place that causes others to realize. Therefore, from these four places, as in order, the first place, that is, the thusness with defilements, is the cause to be purified, because the Three Jewels arise from its purification from defilements. The latter three places are the conditions for purification. Each of their natures has four aspects: the meaning of the dharmadhātu to be realized, the meaning of the nature of realization, bodhi, the meaning of the limbs of realization, qualities, and the meaning of the activity that causes realization. Among them, with regard to the thusness with defilements, in order to show that all sentient beings have the essence of the Tathāgata, first, the meaning of the dharmadhātu to be realized has eight aspects, the way in which the dharmadhātu pervades all.
