(1) The treatise called 'A Commentary on the Ornament of the Great Vehicle Sutra, called Rays of the Sun of Good Explanation' is present. (2) Called 'Rays of the Sun of Good Explanation'. I prostrate to the glorious and holy Lama, and I prostrate to all the glorious and perfect ones. I prostrate, offer, praise, and take refuge in all those who do not deny what exists, do not fabricate what does not exist, but realize and teach as it is. The basis and result of all profound and ultimate natures, the Tathagatagarbha, and the ultimate path, the Vajra Yoga, I respectfully bow down and wish to explain its meaning. The basis of all phenomena of conventional truth, empty of all, the unchanging (3) twelve perfect accomplishments, I prostrate. The Buddhas who have attained, realized, and shown it, and the Bodhisattvas, I prostrate. Especially those who have clearly revealed its meaning, Mipham Gonpo and the brothers Thogme, Nagarjuna and his sons, and all the teachers who have taught the profound meaning of nature, I prostrate. I will write a brief explanation of the treatise that clearly shows the Tathagatagarbha. Here, the Great Vehicle Sutra Ornament, in accordance with the commentary of the holy Asanga of Tushita, is explained in four meanings: the meaning of the title in accordance with the meaning, the general prostration for accomplishing great benefit, the actual treatise possessing supreme meaning, and the way of translating that meaning well. The meaning of the title (4) is: In Sanskrit: Mahāyāna uttaratantra śāstra. In Tibetan: The Great Vehicle Sutra Ornament. The general prostration for accomplishing great benefit is the prostration to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Now, with three meanings, I will explain the actual treatise possessing supreme meaning: the establishment of the body itself, the extensive explanation of the limbs, and the complete activity. The establishment of the body has three aspects: the meaning of the summary, the combination with the scriptures, and the way of determining the order. The first is that the meaning of the summary is taken from the vastness and given to the disciples, so that it is easily understood, and to avoid adding or detracting from the extensive explanation of the limbs, or to make it easier for the teachers to explain without confusing the treatise, so how much meaning does this treatise have?

This is to clearly show in a concise way. That is, what is to be obtained is the meaning of the perfect Buddha who has perfected both his own and others' benefit; and the meaning of the holy Dharma, which has the characteristics of the two truths that are free from attachment; and the meaning of the Sangha of the Aryas, the assembly that does not turn back because it possesses the two wisdoms; and in order to truly realize these, the realm or essence of sentient beings, the meaning of being naturally pure; and the essence of realization, the meaning of the unsurpassed Bodhi, that the realm itself is purified of all defilements; and the limb of realization, the meaning of the qualities associated with the great Bodhi, gathered by liberation and the fruit of maturation (page 5); and the means by which others realize, the power of qualities, the meaning of the Buddha's activity being spontaneously accomplished and continuous, together with the last or final teaching, the body or object of all the limbs of all the treatises that will be explained, if shown in a concise way, then these seven vajra-like places or words. That is to say, these meanings are inexpressible and must be understood individually, so it is difficult to measure with the wisdom arising from hearing and thinking, so the substance of the object is like a vajra jewel. As the tantra says, "Vajra is indivisible" is said like that. The letters that express also clearly show the path of these and make them easy to understand, so they are called places, because the things expressed gradually become the basis or support for realization. Combined with the scripture, these seven vajra places are also in a continuous manner together, related to their own characteristics or nature. As the order shown here, in the sutra called the Teaching of the Great Compassion of the Tathagata, asked by the Bodhisattva King of Dhāraṇī Freedom. From the beginning, it should be known that the first place of the vajra is to show the Three Jewels. As it says therein, "The Blessed One awakened to the equality of all dharmas, turned the wheel of Dharma well, possessed an extremely tamed and boundless assembly of disciples," and so on. The remaining places.
