Because the compassion that has abandoned and relinquished everything, its self-nature of luminosity reaches the ultimate and becomes manifest. For example, in the human world, it becomes a stainless lapis lazuli ground, and the image of Indra (བརྒྱ་བྱིན་, Sanskrit: Śakra, Romanization: Śakra, meaning: Indra) appears, etc., just as things are accomplished without effort. In this regard, the stream of effort with an object of focus is completely pacified. This explains the meaning of the vow. Because the non-conceptual mind reaches the ultimate and becomes manifest. This is the reason for establishing it. Thus, even without any effort (182), the nature of spontaneously accomplishing the benefit of others is illustrated by examples such as the image of Indra and the sound of the great drum, etc., which have been explained earlier, in order to make the minds of those to be tamed understand. That is what is said. Regarding the current topic, the way of not making effort is: In this time of the Buddha's activity, the current meaning to be illustrated by these examples is: The nine meanings of showing miracles and teaching instructions, etc., which were explained earlier, show that the teacher, the fully enlightened Buddhas, are free from conditioned phenomena such as birth and death, without discrimination, and without the thought or effort of "doing this and that," yet they can guide those to be tamed in a way that accomplishes their activities. That is what is said. In terms of the way of expressing it, there are two types. Among them, the explanation of the classification of examples is: The examples that closely represent the Buddha's activities being spontaneously accomplished and continuous are: Just as Indra himself does not move from his own position, and his image appears on the earth, thereby accomplishing the affairs of people; the great drum proclaims the four seals of Dharma without effort; clouds cover the sky, and the clouds ripen the crops; Brahma does not move from the form realm, and his emanations appear in the desire realm, thereby accomplishing the affairs of the gods; the sun has no discrimination and emits infinite rays, thereby dispelling darkness; the most excellent wish-fulfilling jewel is with the wheel-turning king (183), and even without discrimination, it fulfills all needs.
