Due to fully engaging with one's pure mind, the Rupakaya appears; due to engaging with one's impure mind, which is filled with defilements such as disbelief, the Rupakaya appears to vanish. For example, in the human realm, due to the purity and impurity of the ground, the image of the Lord of the Gods appears or vanishes, but the Lord of the Gods himself does not move from his own place. Similarly, due to the purity and impurity of the beings to be tamed, (the Buddha) appears to be born and die in the Rupakaya, but in terms of the ultimate truth, the Dharmakaya does not have what is called birth, destruction, or cessation, because it is unconditioned and unchanging. That's it. Regarding the way to ascertain the instructions by the example of the drum, there are three points: the way to teach the sacred Dharma like the drum of the gods, the way to be superior to other examples, and the way these also arise from conditions. Regarding the way of teaching: A detailed explanation of the reason why the example and the meaning are the same, and then summarizing it again in a good way. There are three points in the detailed explanation, the first is the way of no effort: For example, in the realm of the gods, all the gods, by the power of accumulating the white virtuous deeds that were well practiced in the past, the great drum does not need the effort of wanting to speak, etc., nor the place of sound production such as the tongue and lips, and the images and motivations of conceptualization including the mind, it can produce the sound of "all conditioned things are impermanent, all contaminated things are suffering, all dharmas are selfless, and all nirvana is peaceful," thereby urging all the gods who have become negligent because they are distracted by the qualities of desire. Similarly, although the all-pervading perfect Buddhas are free from the effort of wanting to speak, etc., thinking that they will teach this and that, they pervade all the beings to be tamed with the Buddha's speech that is in accordance with their respective languages, and teach the vast Dharma of the Three Vehicles to those who possess the fortune of the three lineages. That's it. Regarding the way of arising from karma: For example, in the realm of the gods, the sound of the great drum of the gods
