To that which has become so, I bow with joy from all aspects. To summarize these qualities into two, this treatise just mentioned reveals the Sangha Jewel endowed with two qualities. That is, with the object being the nature of reality (15), the suchness existing as it is, the noble ones, through their unique inner wisdom of awareness, possess the quality of knowing things as they are, due to the purification of the obscurations that cling to their vision. And with the object being the nature of beings, all sentient beings as numerous as they are, with the realm of Dharma pervading them, the noble ones, through their unique inner wisdom of awareness, possess the quality of knowing things as numerous as they are, due to the purification of the obscurations that obstruct their vision. Because they possess these qualities, the wise Bodhisattvas, the complete Bodhisattvas, the Sangha Jewel of those who do not turn back from the great complete enlightenment, are superior to the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, and thus possess the qualities of unsurpassed wisdom. So it is said. To combine these and explain them extensively, there are four: explaining extensively how things are realized, explaining extensively how things as numerous as they are are realized, showing that these are also completely pure, and showing that the refuge of all these is supreme. Among these, the way of realizing things as they are is: because the nature of the mind of all beings is from the beginning the nature of Dharma, pacified from elaboration, it is directly realized by the wisdom of self-awareness, therefore it is the wisdom of knowing things as they are. Moreover, the mind is realized as being completely pure and luminous by its very nature. And it is realized that the adventitious defilements have not arisen from the beginning, therefore they are exhausted and ceased. So it is said. The way of realizing things as numerous as they are is: realizing all objects of knowledge and their ultimate suchness, with the wisdom of the transcendent (16), the nature of all-knowingness, the essence of the Tathagata, because it is naturally pervasive in all sentient beings as numerous as they are, it is directly seen by the wisdom of self-awareness, therefore, the nature of things exists as numerous as they are, it is the wisdom of knowing things as numerous as they are. So it is said. That vision arises broadly from the beginning, the meaning of going everywhere in the realm of Dharma.

It is for the sake of realization. Those are also shown to be pure, as such, with the knowledge of knowing as it is and as many as there are, the realization of the path that transcends the world, that is not shared with others, and the nature of the self-awareness seen by the noble ones with their own self-awareness. And, that also pervades everything, the realm of phenomena that is naturally immaculate, by entering into it, there is no attachment and no obscuration of afflictions with attachment, and it pervades all things to be known, there is no obscuration of knowledge with obstruction and with obstruction. Therefore, those two wisdoms are extremely pure in relation to what is seen by temporary wisdom. Showing that all of them are places of refuge is, with the knowledge of knowing as it is and as many as there are, viewing the object, being extremely pure with the two obscurations of attachment and obstruction, therefore, viewing with the wisdom of the Buddha is supreme and close to abiding, the noble ones who see the nature of reality, those who do not turn back from complete enlightenment, are the places of refuge that protect all sentient beings from the suffering of cyclic existence. There are three ways to establish the three refuges: (17), the way to establish them as three in relation to the need, the way that the latter two are not ultimate places of refuge, and the way to determine the ultimate place of refuge. Among them, the way to establish them as three is, showing the ultimate place of refuge, with the meaning of showing the qualities of the Buddha, from seeing its qualities, among the three vehicles, the Mahayana practitioners who seek the Buddha himself, and among the three authors, from the perspective of the devotees who believe that the Buddha is the best of the two-legged ones, among the three refuges, the Buddha himself is established as the first refuge. With its teachings, the qualities of the holy Dharma, the meaning of showing the qualities, from seeing its qualities, among the three vehicles, the practitioners of the Pratyekabuddha vehicle, those who themselves want to realize and attain the profound Dharma of dependent origination, and among the three authors, from the perspective of the devotees who believe that the best of those who are free from attachment to the Dharma, among the three refuges, the Dharma is established as the second refuge.
