Having compassion and able to relieve the fears of beings, like the all-pervading wise one, the unparalleled great sage Buddha, possessing power like the son of non-attachment, possessing a vajra-like hard and large body (138), upright and possessing all virtues. Therefore, ordinary people cannot imagine, these thirty-two virtues of radiant splendor, are the excellent qualities of the all-knowing king of men, the great being, the teacher of gods and humans, which have been clearly stated in the Sutras, and are also recorded here. Thus it is said. Combining the symbolic metaphors to summarize: For example, just as the full image of the autumn moon in the cloudless season appears in the sky; and as seen in the blue waters and clear, immaculate lakes of autumn. Similarly, the ten-bhumi bodhisattvas and ordinary disciples will see the forms of the Lord Buddha's Sambhogakaya and Nirmanakaya in the mandala of the perfect Buddha and the worldly mandala, respectively. Thus it is said. For example, the Sambhogakaya seen by the Bodhisattvas is like the moon in the sky; the Nirmanakaya seen by ordinary people is like the moon in the water. Thus it is said. The way to understand from the scriptures is: Thus, the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the eighteen unshared dharmas of the Buddha, and the thirty-two major marks, these sixty-four qualities of the Buddha, each individually, are the cause of making the qualities possessed by the Dharmakaya free from defilement, and are the cause of gradually generating the qualities possessed by the Rupakaya (139). As the numbers and order shown here, one should follow the "Precious Question Sutra, Mahayana Instruction" to know it as it is. Thus it is said. Again, the explanation is divided into two parts: generally explaining the reasons why the metaphor and meaning are the same; explaining these separately by combining them. Among them, the general explanation is: The ten powers of the Tathagata, each

Because the various opposing sides cannot break them, the ten powers are like a vajra. The four fearlessnesses are like a lion because their courage does not diminish. The eighteen unshared qualities are like space because they are not shared with shravakas and others, and are unique. The two form bodies with excellent marks are like the moon because the dharmakaya is like space, and appears to those to be tamed without wavering. Therefore, these four categories of qualities are shown in order by the example of the material vajra, the example of the lion, the king of beasts, the example of unconditioned space, and the example of the moon appearing in pure water. That's it. Separate explanations are divided into two: explaining the qualities of the separation-result dharmakaya, and explaining the qualities of the maturation-result form body. The separation-result is divided into two: the way to represent it separately with examples, and the way to combine it without differentiation. There are three ways of representing: the way the powers are represented by the vajra (140), the way the fearlessness is represented by the lion, and the way the unshared qualities are represented by space. There are two ways to represent the powers, of which the individual ways of representing are: among the ten powers such as the power of knowing what is and is not, the first six powers, the middle three powers, and the last one power, in that order, eliminate all the obscurations of what is to be known, the obscurations of meditative absorption, and the obscurations together with habitual tendencies, so they are similar to a vajra. The three obscurations exist like armor, walls, and trees, and the powers have successively pierced, destroyed, and cut them. That's it. The common way of representing is: firmness, essence, stability, and indivisibility. Because they possess the four qualities of virtue, all the ten powers of the great sage, the complete and perfect Buddhas, are like a vajra. Furthermore, for what reason are they firm? Because they are the essence of all the phenomena of samsara and nirvana. For what reason are they the essence? Because they are unconditioned and spontaneously accomplished, they are stable. For what reason are they stable? Because they are not...
