This shows its similarity. The cause of understanding it is immeasurable and has benefits, so it is subtle and profound. Showing the ultimate truth is because all dharmas are shown to be of the same taste in suchness (77), just as all honeys are sweet and delicious. The vast twelve scriptures, etc., show various aspects of skillful means in order to gradually guide to the meaning of realizing the essence, because it is related to various meanings. Know that it is like the essence of grain that should be approached existing in the wrapping of various shells. This is its meaning. Showing the example and meaning of suchness is: Whether the Tathagatas appear or do not appear, the dharma-nature of all dharmas exists. As it is said. The nature of the mind, even when connected with endless suffering of afflictions, is pure, clear, and unchanging, therefore it is called suchness. It is like unchanging pure gold, which does not change its nature in all circumstances, and like beautiful gold, its nature is good and supreme, and like stainless gold, it has been without afflictions and completely pure from the beginning, therefore, the realm of dharma, suchness, is said to be the same in shape and nature as pure gold. This is its meaning. Explaining the examples and meanings of the lineage in detail has three parts: showing the two lineages with examples, how to obtain the three bodies from them, and combining them with examples. Among them, showing the two lineages with examples is: For example, a great treasure that does not need to be newly acquired with effort and has inexhaustible enjoyment naturally exists under the ground (78); and like a tree with fruits that is gradually grown in a garden through effort. Similarly, know that the Buddha-nature that can produce the three bodies also has two types: the nature-lineage of the completely pure realm of dharma that has been close to the nature of the mind since beginningless time; and the part of virtue of liberation that arises from newly and correctly acquiring through effort by listening to it, etc.

Accordingly, it is the very nature of the supreme and increasing lineage. Thus it is said. The way to obtain the three bodies is: From these two, the cause of self-nature and the lineage of increase, one wishes to obtain the three bodies of the Buddha of perfect fruition. Moreover, firstly, that which is the lineage that abides in its own nature, having been brought to perfection by a multitude of wisdoms, and being free from all adventitious stains, from this, the first body, the Dharmata Svabhavikakaya, which possesses the two purities, is obtained. Secondly, from the increase of the increasing lineage, with the accumulation of merit brought to perfection, the latter two bodies, the Sambhogakaya and the Nirmanakaya, which appear to those to be tamed, near and far, are obtained. Thus it is said. The example and the connection are: The Svabhavikakaya of ultimate truth, which is naturally luminous and supremely beautiful with the splendor of qualities, should be understood to be like the body of the Buddha made of jewels. Because it is established by its own nature from the beginning and is not newly made by effort, and because it is like a treasury of inexhaustible jewels of qualities such as strength. Because it possesses the great wealth of the kingdom of the profound and vast Dharma Mahayana, the Sambhogakaya, which appears in purity, is like a Chakravartin king enjoying the wealth of the seven jewels and the four continents. Because of the nature of the mere appearance of the image that tames whatever appears to the minds of those to be tamed, relying on the power of the manifest Dharmakaya, the Nirmanakaya, which appears in common, is like a golden image. Thus it is said. The way to realize the meaning of the teachings through faith is: The Dharmata, the ultimate truth of the self-arisen, perfect Buddhas, which is spontaneously accomplished from the beginning and is not newly born from other conditions, is the meaning of the Tathagatagarbha. Individual ordinary beings, Sravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Bodhisattvas who have newly entered the Mahayana, rely on definitive scriptures and their commentaries such as these. It is to be realized in a general way through faith, devotion, and trust.
