In response, the Bhagavan said: The supreme aspect of utmost bliss, listen, goddess, Mahamudra! Mahamudra is the great secret, inexpressible, inexhaustible, unborn. All forms and formlessness are separate, formless form is the supreme self-nature, free from subtle and coarse, etc., it is immeasurable self-nature. The light of true and immaculate form, does not exist anywhere, it is neither rising nor setting, constant rising is also extremely supreme. Liberated from time and circumstance, it is the maker of arising and destruction. Thus and so on, it speaks of the way of being of the base, and the means of realizing it, the faults and merits of not knowing and knowing, and the ascertainment of the fruit and characteristics. These meanings are also clearly explained in the commentary written by the master Saraha. In the 'Wisdom Bindu' it says: From the realm of Brahma to the farthest reaches, you have blessed with good joy, sealed countless ones, therefore you are known as Mahamudra. And, its commentary 'The Secret Reality' says: It relies on the non-proliferation Mahamudra Tummo wisdom light, through the stages of joy, from the self-nature joy, the non-proliferation self-nature joy, that is, the self-nature of Mahamudra is obtained. And, all sentient beings have the nature of Buddha, therefore Mahamudra is the Bhagavan Mother, because the self-nature of cause and effect is one, therefore the meaning of sealing is declared: Therefore you are known as Mahamudra. Thus, non-proliferation and self-nature joy and the Dharma-nature of the base are explained as Mahamudra. In the difficult commentary on the skull of the Buddha, Saraha wrote: The wise woman of Mahamudra, because the Tathagatas are sealed with the self-nature of great emptiness, therefore it is Mahamudra. Thus, the seal of great emptiness endowed with all supreme aspects is explained as Mahamudra. In the difficult commentary on the Kalachakra, 'The Lotus One' says: The so-called Mahamudra is the Prajnaparamita that produces all the Tathagatas of the past, future and present. Thus, the view of Prajnaparamita is explained as Mahamudra. In the difficult commentary on the empowerment definitive instruction

From what was composed by Rāmapāla: In order to seal the three seals, this is also the Great (185) Seal and also the Seal. Through examination, the nature of not abiding in the future, manifesting the wisdom of the path with reverence and continuous practice, being devoid of entities, abandoning the obscurations such as knowable objects, becoming the basis of all perfections, saṃsāra and nirvāṇa being one in nature, possessing the body of great compassion without object, the sole body of great bliss is the Great Seal. The definition and recognition of the essence of the Great Seal, and through these, the determination of the Great Seal of ground, path, and fruition. Similarly, the ways in which it is taught in the tantras such as the Saṃbuddha Samāyoga, the Saṃvara Samuccaya, the Gūhyasamāja Tantra, the Saṃpuṭa Tantra, etc., and the ways in which it is taught in the treatises of the great siddhas such as the Seven Sections of Accomplishment are very numerous, but here I will not elaborate because it would be too extensive. In short, in the tantras and treatises of the great siddhas (186), the basis and nature of all dharmas, emptiness and innate nature, and equality, and unchanging bliss and great bliss, and freedom from arising, ceasing, and abiding, and profound peace and freedom from elaboration, all these should be known as the Great Seal taught by all the Buddhas. Thus, some say, "Therefore, we do not want the Great Seal that is not taught in the tantras." Such sarcasm towards others is merely a statement that has not examined the meaning of all the sutras and tantras with discernment. For these ways do not seem to involve any determination or complete determination. Third, some say, "The present Great Seal and the Chinese-style Dzogchen, the ascending and descending, gradual and sudden, are only changes of names, and there is no difference in meaning." To say this is merely to want to say it. For Dzogchen, called Atiyoga, is considered the ultimate of mantra, while the meditation of Heshang (187) is considered to be based on the eighty sections of the sutras. Therefore, not only are the differences in the stages of meditation different, but the sources of the teachings are also different. Moreover, the existence of Chinese-style Dzogchen has not been stated by any reliable source. If one says that Dzogchen is the meditation of Heshang, that is to slander the Dharma as non-Dharma.
