Depending on the difference between large and small, appearances are not fixed. If some people are unable to generate such realization at all, then for the time being, cultivate virtuous actions in post-meditation as previously explained. Later, gradually and repeatedly separate the grasping of duality, the grasping of emptiness, and other attachments through meditation, and realization will gradually arise. Once a pure realization of reality arises, it is the essence of the teachings of the Buddhas, including the sutras, tantras, and pith instructions. Therefore, it is much deeper than other paths and lineages. Second, training through the practice of path application, which has three points: explaining the time and practice of path application, explaining the general key points of path application, and explaining the six path applications individually (619). The first point is: Regarding the time for engaging in path application, in general, when the nature of innate mind is seen, and especially after the nature of innate conceptual thought and innate appearance are thoroughly seen, and once the mindfulness of virtuous activity takes hold, the wisdom of subsequent attainment and the appearances of subsequent attainment mostly arise as subsequent attainment, then one should engage in path application. Otherwise, without understanding the nature of the three innate aspects, one cannot transform the consciousness of conditioned appearances into the path. The time when path application must be done is: even if the realization of seeing the face of meditation has arisen, but due to being influenced by the appearances of this life, attachment to desire and aversion is strong, and one remains in an ordinary state; and when the mind is disturbed by strong external circumstances, and it is difficult to naturally transform the disturbed state into the path; and when in ease and leisure, conceptual thoughts are dormant and cannot be recognized; in short, when it is difficult to naturally transform the mind into the path through the mindfulness of virtuous activity, and when disturbing thoughts such as hope and fear (620) disturb the mindstream with their own characteristics. Also, in a solitary place, if a meditative atmosphere arises, in order to stabilize and enhance it, one must take the practice of transforming it into the path on the spot. Therefore, it is at those times when disturbing thoughts arise in the mind that one transforms it into the path. Otherwise, if the mindfulness of meditation and post-meditation becomes unwavering, abandoning the natural flow of guarding reality, and again engaging in antidotal path application and reversal meditation, etc., then one falls into the various places of loss mentioned earlier. The time to enter into practice is, in the Two Examinations: "A little warmth is th

If one wishes to practice, if one wishes to achieve, this is practice itself. Thus, it is said that practice should be done after obtaining the sign of warmth. In this practice lineage as well, it is considered necessary for practice to be combined with the right timing. Some, because they have not truly understood the nature of the mind, merely experience various kinds of calm abiding (shamatha) experiences (621), and some, without even having such experiences, wander through cemeteries and crossroads for the sake of fame, profit, and gain. Although they may initially endure suffering and later become shameless, this does not truly enhance virtuous actions, because they do not understand the nature of the conceptualization that is to be taken as the path, nor do they understand the reality of the mind that is the place to be taken as the path. The necessity of practice is not merely for the sake of using desire as the path, but for the sake of making trust and all wavering become one taste in the nature of reality. As it is said in the Two Examinations: "The practice of fearful forms that is spoken of is not for the sake of enjoyment, but to examine whether the mind is stable or wavering, examine your own mind separately." The actual practice is: In the Father Tantras of Secret Mantra, there are three practices: with characteristics, without characteristics, and extremely without characteristics (622). In the Mother Tantras, there are three practices: secret practice, ascetic practice, and complete victory practice. In the context of the Heart Essence of Accomplishment, there are four practices: Samantabhadra's practice, secret practice, hidden practice, wisdom ascetic practice, and complete victory practice. Furthermore, there are the practice of the beginner, the practice of mastering wisdom, the practice of greatly mastering wisdom, and the practice of liberation, among others. That is to say, if a practitioner, a mantra practitioner, does not separate from the profound instructions of the generation and completion stages, then these practices can also become practices of the Great Seal (Mahamudra). For it is said in the treatises of the Heart Essence of Accomplishment, the Dohas of the Great Brahmin, and the Mahamudra treatises of Shavari the Empowered, Virupa, and Tailopa that these practices should be done as appropriate. However, the view of this practice lineage is that, just as the practice of desire is almost forbidden to those who guard vows in the Kalachakra (623), it is merely the practice of enhancing meditation.
