It falls into the state of unmentioned ignorance. It becomes dim, hazy, and chaotic. Apart from non-thought, there is no clarity. That is falling into the animal realm. Thus, it is explained in detail. Also, Lord Phagmo Drupa said: The three of bliss, clarity, and non-thought, Even if meditated upon without attachment, May still result in a Shravaka or Pratyekabuddha. Thus it is said. Lord Yang Gonpa said: There is attachment to bliss, There is clinging to clarity, There is contrivance in non-thought, If there is attachment to these three, one will fall into the three realms. Even without attachment and clinging, if one does not see the true face of reality, one will fall into the fruit of Shravaka and Pratyekabuddha. Thus it is asserted. Although it is mentioned in the words of Lord Gampopa that the lack of loving-kindness and compassion, and analytical emptiness, lead only to falling into the Lesser Vehicle, To attain the fruit of Shravaka and Pratyekabuddha (574), both Shamatha and Vipassana focused on selflessness are necessary, and it is said that one must abandon the afflictions. Merely cultivating bliss, clarity, and non-thought without Vipassana, even without attachment, is just ordinary worldly Samadhi, therefore, it is unreasonable to attain Shravaka, Pratyekabuddha, and Arhat through it. Then, how should we understand Lord Gampopa's statement: "Uncertainty in appearance carries the risk of becoming a cause for cessation"? This is because it is said in the Tsokcho Tashi Phuntsok: A Lama with the eye of Dharma, who has directly realized the emptiness of mind, will ascertain the three of bliss, clarity, and non-thought as unborn. If it is not ascertained as unborn, it is called uncertainty in appearance, and it will become non-analytical cessation. Because it is a common path, there is no place of arising. As it is said, it is non-analytical cessation. These are in the Abhidharmakosha: (575) That which permanently obstructs arising, There is no other cessation than non-analytical cessation. In its auto-commentary, it says: That which permanently obstructs the arising of future dharmas, What is the cessation other than separation, that is non-analytical cessation, this is not attained through analysis. As it is said, because the conditions are incomplete, it permanently obstructs the arising of future defiled and undefiled dharmas, It is a cessation that is a different substance from analytical cessation. The reason why its fruit has no place of arising is, in the Bodhicharyavatara: A mind devoid of emptiness, Once ceased, will arise again, Like entering a non-conceptual

Like the previously mentioned samadhi. As stated in the sutra: Although people in the world practice meditation, they cannot destroy the notion of self-grasping. They are outsiders, and their afflictions are extremely intense. Thus, here, one meditates on the heightened samadhi. As it is said. Among them, the "unconscious one" is born in the realm of the unconscious gods and can prevent the arising of mind. The "unconscious samadhi" is based on the fourth dhyana, perceiving unconsciousness as liberation, thus preventing the arising of mind and mental factors. The "cessation samadhi" is based on the realm of neither perception nor non-perception, becoming weary of perception and feeling, perceiving the attainment of peace as the goal, thus entering into a samadhi that pacifies the mind and mental factors. The reason why these become a source of error in this context is that they all lack the meaning of selflessness and therefore cannot pacify the root of samsara, which is self-grasping. Because they cannot pacify it, they give rise to karma and afflictions again and revolve in samsara. As Dharmakirti said: If there is a self, then one knows there is an other. From the division of self and other, attachment and hatred arise. From these and all related things, all faults will arise. As it is said. Therefore, just as a practitioner of heightened conduct cultivates samadhi, even if they attain the mind of the peak of existence, they will not be able to escape samsara. That is the meaning. "Separate cessation" is said to be a cessation obtained by individually examining the four noble truths with the wisdom of the uninterrupted path, a cessation that is separate from contaminated phenomena. Thus, without knowing the various distinctions of cessation in detail, one might mistakenly believe that something uncertain in appearance poses a risk of becoming a cause for cessation, based solely on hearing it said. Many unwise people raise arguments about the cessation of the Shravakas, but most of them seem to be merely transmitting foolish words. However, even those who claim to be wise say: "Or one will fall into the cessation of the Shravakas." They proclaim this and then speak nonsense. However, those who can enter the cessation samadhi of the Shravakas are Shravaka Non-returners and Arhats. It also seems to be an unintelligible statement that the higher vision of realizing the selflessness of the person is necessary for that cessation samadhi. If you understand it that way, then your statement that it is the same as the cause and direction of animals is a mistake.
