It is called "experience." It is called "the self-experience of Mahamudra." What does that refer to? It refers to the nature of one's own mind. What is that like? It is not existent, there is nothing to grasp, not even something as subtle as a hair tip split into a hundred pieces. It is also not non-existent, because there is something to experience and realize. Such a nature of mind must appear as clear emptiness without grasping, clear emptiness without interruption. When it appears like that, it means that practice is combined with experience. As it is said, "Experience and realization are simultaneously present." Some say: Bliss, clarity, and non-thought, these three are the wrong paths of practice; bliss, clarity, and non-thought, these three are the pinnacle of practice. This saying refers to the experience of clinging in the former case, and the self-experience of realization in the latter. Here, some say: If merely cutting off the three wrong paths could transform into Mahamudra, then the cessation of the Shravakas would also become Mahamudra. Saying this is just wishful thinking, because practicing Mahamudra means that one must cut off the three wrong paths, but it is not admitted that merely cutting off the three wrong paths can transform into Mahamudra, so it seems like a denial. Moreover, the three wrong paths are the three realms, and there are others who have not fallen into them, and it is inappropriate to specifically mention the cessation of the Shravakas. Those who can enter the cessation of the Shravakas (585) are the Shravaka non-returners who have realized the body, and the Arhats who are liberated from both aspects. Those are with the remaining bodies of the desire realm and the form realm, so they have not abandoned the three wrong paths. Again, some say: One should familiarize oneself with emptiness, but not directly realize emptiness, as stated in the Prajnaparamita. If one only meditates on emptiness, one will not be able to realize emptiness. Even if one realizes emptiness, one will fall into the cessation of the Shravakas. Saying this is also not good, because one cannot familiarize oneself with emptiness without directly realizing emptiness, so what is said in the Prajnaparamita becomes a false statement. Moreover, here, when meditating on emptiness with all excellent aspects, there is no fault of only meditating on emptiness. The latter fault

Secondly, because you think that refuting your view as empty is counterproductive (586), and because the emptiness that is examined is said to be the emptiness of nihilistic views, thereby not achieving the supreme wisdom of Kalachakra Yeli, it is said that this should be abandoned. Secondly, eliminating the obstacles that hinder. It is divided into two types: eliminating the general obstacles of samadhi, and eliminating other external and internal obstacles. The first is: In general, no matter what kind of samadhi is cultivated, the object to be cultivated must be clear and manifest, free from obscuration, and the manifest object must not be shaken by distraction, it must be stable, these two must be present. The former obstacle is caused by the sinking aspect, and the latter obstacle is caused by the excitement aspect, so sinking and excitement are the root obstacles to cultivating samadhi. If we distinguish internally, the sinking aspect includes sinking itself, lethargy, dullness, sleep, and drowsiness, etc., and the excitement aspect includes excitement itself, regret (587), doubt, desire, and hatred, etc. For beginners, these will become obstacles and faults, so they must be eliminated. The recognition of these and the methods of generating antidotes have already been discussed in the general discussion of calm abiding and insight. For those who recognize the nature of all dharmas and realize manifestation, because they recognize the nature of sinking and excitement, etc., these will appear as practice. As Jetsun Chenpo said: "It is certain to practice, but the fault of sinking and excitement has not been eliminated. When practicing, there is distraction and lethargy, and the fault of sinking and excitement is eliminated, it is like holding a torch in the daytime, ah! Teacher!" Also, as Je Gampopa said: "If sinking and excitement arise, look at it itself." Secondly, in the Ornament of Clear Realization, it says: "Here obstacles are of two kinds, external and internal realms of activity." It also says: "Coughing up phlegm, shortness of breath, and epidemics, vomiting white turbidity, disease, and hiccups, these and all epidemics, wind, cold, heat, etc. arise, the manifestation of unpleasant appearances, know that these are internal obstacles. External great obstacles are humans and likewise non-humans, those thorns of wisdom, with various modes of action, arise to destroy the world, causing confusion in places of asceticism."
