What is the extent of the mixing of post-attainment? Is it possible to perform all actions without separating from single-pointed concentration? Is it possible for post-attainment to be accompanied by conceptual thoughts? Is post-attainment like a dream or illusion? When post-attainment appears as conceptual thought, is it possible to cut off the aftermath? The answer is: If it appears as before, that is good, it is merely existence. The middle one is sufficient. If post-attainment becomes ordinary conceptual thought and the aftermath cannot be cut off, then it is said that shamatha and vipashyana are not mixed. Furthermore, if we consider the sayings of some of the Kagyu lineage masters, it seems that there is no contradiction even if we use the term "mixing of shamatha and vipashyana" when great freedom from elaboration arises. Because for the mixing of shamatha and vipashyana, it is not necessary for all post-attainment to be purely clear light; it is sufficient to be accompanied by illusion-like conceptual thoughts. Even when there is occasional distraction in post-awareness, it is said (549) that it is sufficient to recognize its nature in post-attainment and cut off the aftermath. Therefore, it is said that this occurs above great freedom from elaboration. Furthermore, the Compendium says: "This is neither abiding nor rising, without arrogance. Why? Because the nature of dharma is fully known." It means that by knowing the nature of all dharmas, it is said to be the mixing of shamatha and vipashyana. Shawa Ripa said: "When one's own suchness is realized by oneself, even the distracted mind appears as the great mudra." It means that if one realizes the nature of reality, then there is no distraction, and it appears as meditation. Therefore, at that time, even during great freedom from elaboration, the mixing of shamatha and vipashyana is appropriate. However, if we describe the way of mixing shamatha and vipashyana in one's own ground here, according to the way experiences arise, then during single-pointed concentration in meditation, due to the impurity of attachment to experience, although there is no nature of shamatha and vipashyana, there is shamatha and vipashyana in one's own ground. In the post-awareness of intermediate single-pointed concentration, the previous (550) coarse conceptual appearances become subtle and latent, and it is rare for them to appear as obvious images. Most conceptual appearances naturally purify and naturally liberate themselves. This is considered to be a slight mixing of shamatha and vipashyana in one's own ground. It is said that in great single-pointed concentration, experience appears pervasively, which requires the mixing of shamatha and vipashyana in one's own ground. It is said that during freedom from elaboration in meditation, the nature of shamatha and vipashyana appears. In the post-awareness of intermediate freedom from elaboration, only the face of pure conceptual thought appears.

Even if it doesn't happen completely, it will mostly be grasped by recollection. At that time, with the good experience of awareness-emptiness, appearance-emptiness, it will be very easy to cultivate virtue, wanting to slightly mix common post-attainment. In the vast non-elaboration of pure experience, it is necessary to integrate walking, staying, sitting, and lying down into common post-attainment throughout the day. Similarly, in the intermediate one taste, there are few illusions of post-attainment, and appearances mostly arise as meditation, wanting to slightly mix common post-attainment (551). In the vast one taste, all appearances of post-attainment arise as clear-emptiness, ungrasping, like illusion, and it is necessary to integrate into common post-attainment. Based on these reasons, the Kadampa masters Gampopa and his three disciples, Phagmo Drupa, and Jiare and his disciples, all said that in the stage of one taste, common post-attainment should be mixed. In addition, there are many differences in the strength of non-elaboration and one-taste virtuous practices and their common post-attainment, which will be explained later. The classification of how to cultivate virtuous practices has been explained above. Third, cutting off the mistakes and deviations of meditation. This is further divided into: cutting off the mistakes and deviations of samadhi itself, and eliminating the obstacles that interrupt in between. The first part is further divided into: cutting off the four mistakes and cutting off the three deviations. The first part is further divided into: identifying the four mistakes and indicating the method of not falling into them. The first part is: In general, for emptiness, each of the mistakes that are said to be the basis, in terms of meaning, falling into the understanding of the general aspect, is called "innate mistake", and the error in the way of experiencing is called "occasional mistake". Among them, there are two types of falling into the nature of emptiness-knowable: The so-called "meditation on emptiness that is inseparable from appearance and emptiness, possessing all supreme aspects", if one does not recognize the way in which emptiness and dependent arising exist inseparably, then one concludes that emptiness is something that is not affected by any good or bad, completely non-existent, and originally not established, thereby belittling the cause and effect of good and evil, or falling into the nature of all phenomena being originally pure, originally liberated, and so on. Holding on to emptiness in this way, but not being familiar with conventional dependent arising, is an innate mistake. Relying on hearing, thinking, etc., one understands the general meaning of emptiness as the object of meditation in one's own mind, and tells others about its way
