Without the bondage of negation and affirmation, completely release without attachment or grasping, like untying a leather rope, abide freely in whatever state is inherent. As the great Brahmin said, "Whatever you are attached to, let it go." And, "Real and unreal are the bonds of the Sugata; do not differentiate between samsara and nirvana, (511) the original mind abides as one, O yogi!" Furthermore, Gampopa said, "Sometimes the known is placed in three states: uncorrected, relaxed, and free." The 'uncorrected' is in accordance with 'letting it be.' However, when the door of circumstantial appearances arises, maintain it also without correction, so that it becomes self-liberated in the state of original spontaneity, like the mind of a young child, clear and without grasping. As Shawa Ra said, "Do not defile ordinary awareness, the original nature, with artificial objects; the naturally pure mind does not need correction." And, "Do not hold the breath, do not bind the mind, let uncorrected awareness be like a young child." Also, Maitripa said, "The uncorrected original mind is the Dharmakaya; yoga cannot be attained with a corrected mind, therefore, release it towards the direction of bliss (512)." And, "Abiding in the natural state without distraction, body and speech do not need correction or cultivation; saying 'equally abiding' and 'not abiding,' there is no need to correct and cultivate with antidotes." Thirdly, Nagarjuna said, "Do not conceptualize anywhere, do not think about anything, do not fabricate or correct, abide in a natural and relaxed state, make the uncorrected the unborn nature, Prajnaparamita is the non-dual path." Thus, he explained the four states of non-conceptualization, non-cultivation, non-correction, and relaxation. In Resting the Mind Itself, it says, "Son, what are you conceptualizing? Because I am neither bound nor liberated, neither distracted nor corrected, let it be natural, alas, rest when tired!" Thus, he explained the three states of non-distraction, non-correction, and letting it be natural. Furthermore, Gampopa said, "Abide like a cloudless sky, abide like a waveless ocean, abide like a windless flame." Thus, he explained the three ways of abiding: without conceptualization, without movement, and (513) with clear awareness. In the Four-Syllable Mahamudra, it says, "Like a great garuda soaring in the sky, abide in the uncorrected original state without effort or practice, like an ocean without waves,\

Here, rest the mind without agitation. Like the sun free from clouds, rest with complete clarity and radiance. Like the waves of water, recognize all arising sensations in the mind and rest. Like a young child gazing at a temple, rest with clarity unceasing and without grasping. Like a bird flying in the sky, rest with awareness without trace, thus six ways of resting are explained. The learned Chegompa said: Clear radiance, non-conceptual, unclouded, without support, these four; unmade, uncorrupted, natural, these three; fresh, relaxed, self-purifying, these three; without meditation, without distraction, these two ways of resting, and so on, are extensively explained, but as they are known from what was said before and what will be said (page 514), they are not elaborated on individually. In the words of the previous Kagyu masters, there are statements such as: "Softly, calmly, together, loosely, freely," etc., which mainly emphasize the aspect of abiding; and "Clearly, purely, distinctly, certainly, nakedly, sharply," etc., which mainly emphasize the aspect of vividness, with various methods of cultivation appearing. However, in this context, for beginners cultivating one-pointedness in meditative equipoise, Lord Gampopa said: "In the beginning, one should train in clear and distinct awareness. Also, one should train in non-distraction. Also, one should train in the essence of awareness being primordially non-distracted. When that is familiar, certainty will arise on its own." And: "That clear and distinct awareness is experience. Non-distraction in that is abiding. When viewed with wisdom, the fact that it does not establish as any entity is realization." In short, it is said that on the face of the mind, whatever bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality arise without encountering stone or bone, they are not definite in appearance, and on the face of not abiding in one-pointedness, it is only an understanding of conceptualization (page 515). Jetsun said: "That is that, but not its nature. It is the trunk, but not the fruit. It is a quality, but not non-conceptuality." As he quotes, no matter how long or short one cultivates meditative equipoise, in essence, at that time, the face of the mind should manifest clarity and awareness, and both the aspect of abiding without straying from that must be complete, as it is said. In short, it is the one-pointed mind of a beginner, inseparable from shamatha and vipashyana. Secondly, summarizing the key points of these, there are three aspects: the way of not meditating with intentional thought, the necessity of non-distraction in meaning, and the way these two encompass the essence of meditation. First, in cultivating Mahamudra meditation, the mind's own nature
