If one meditates by artificially modifying and patching things up, it contradicts the meaning of "unfabricated mind" and will not become meditation on reality. However, for those who are heavily attached and prone to distraction, even a moment of distraction is not permissible. As it says in the Tantra of the Secret Ambrosia King: "The nature is emptiness, luminosity (473), It is not attained through meditation, Nor is it attained without meditation. Meditation itself is also conceptual thought, Non-meditation is also conceptual thought. For that which has not even an atom to meditate on, There should not be a moment of distraction." As Shawa said: "Do not regard anything as a fault, Do not grasp at anything, but practice. Do not desire warmth signs, etc., Although it is shown as without meditation, Do not give power to laziness and indifference, Constantly meditate with mindfulness." As it says in "Accomplishing the Meaning of Meditation": "At the time of meditation, do not meditate on anything, It is merely in name that it is called meditation." Therefore, with regard to the awareness of circumstantial appearances, whether the mind is empty and clear, or blissful and radiant, or conceptual thoughts are turbulent and flowing, or various appearances are vividly arising, do not interfere with the natural function of reality. Recognize your own nature, and without forgetting that self-aware mindfulness, allow all of these to unfold naturally without fabrication (474). If one tries to stop the arising of conceptual thoughts and block the appearance of phenomena in order to settle into non-conceptuality, then Lord Tsangpa Gyare called it the "iron hook of meditation," and the waves of meditation will also become somewhat small. Because the essence of mind itself, conceptual thoughts, and the ways in which appearances arise, etc., have absolutely no independently established entities. As illustrated by the example of the sun radiating light or waves arising from the ocean, the natural function of mind-awareness manifests in various ways. Therefore, in the natural state of mind, whatever arises and whatever appears, there is actually no good or bad. Therefore, when abiding, abide in the state of abiding; when moving, move in the state of moving; when appearing, appear in the state of appearing. Recognize that this is the nature itself, and maintain it with self-aware mindfulness. Other than that, there is no need to make any changes or modifications. As Lord Gampopa said: Even if you do not make the effort of rejecting and accepting and abide in non-conceptuality, or even if various conceptual thoughts are turbulently arising, as long as you recognize that "abiding in the unfabricated (475) state, you will naturally be free from dualistic grasping, and the non-dual wisdom will naturally manifest," then the very face of the mind itself

It is to recognize the nature or state or way of being. If understood in this way, there is no need to practice. Because it cannot be abandoned or placed, meditation arises spontaneously. Since various thoughts cannot be prevented from arising, neither can the non-dual wisdom be prevented from arising. Thus it is said. Je Gönchung also said: The nature of clear awareness is inseparable, unscattered, and continuous. Within that state, thoughts, all kinds of thoughts, whatever arises, are all its nature. If ordinary awareness is not distracted, all thoughts are awareness. There is no need to see this as a fault. And so on, it is said. Then, is it permissible not to guide according to the stages of instruction, but from the very beginning to seize with mindfulness whatever arises in the mind? For some who have sudden capacity (476), it may be possible to do so and introduce them. However, for most, if they are not guided according to the stages of instruction, they will not be able to cut through the superimpositions and speculations about the nature of mind, thoughts, and appearances, nor will they have the experience and certainty of seeing the nature of these. Even if there is general mindfulness, it will not do, because there is no mindfulness that recognizes oneself and is self-aware. On this, Je Gampopa said: Then, worldly people also leave thoughts to their own devices, and yogis also remain in ordinary awareness, so what is the difference between the two? If there is no difference, then wouldn't worldly people also be naturally liberated? Worldly people, because they do not have the yogi's instructions, do not understand true non-duality, and only cling to the duality of rejection and acceptance. Even if they receive the instructions, they do not believe that non-dual wisdom will appear as various uncertain forms, so they are born without a place to be liberated from dualistic thoughts (477). Practitioners also tame their minds through the suffering of dualistic clinging in listening, contemplation, and meditation. Yogis, on the other hand, are free from the causes of rejection and acceptance, and non-dual wisdom appears as various uncertain thoughts and great bliss. The difference between the two arises from this key point. Thus he concluded. The stages of introduction have been explained. Third, regarding how to cultivate the practice of meditation: How to cultivate from the recognition of virtuous activity. In particular, the way to cultivate meditation in equipoise and post-equipoise. Cutting off the places where meditation goes astray and the wrong paths. In the unborn
