Regarding the statement that the bindu, which is the basis of wisdom, is the size of a bean, it refers to the essence of flesh, the central channel; the essence of blood, A-thung; the essence of bone, the letter Hum (Tibetan: ཧཾ་ཡིག་, Sanskrit Devanagari: हं, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: haṃ, literal Chinese meaning: Hum character); the essence of wind, the life force; and the essence of essence, the alaya consciousness. It does not refer to a bindu the size of a bean in the heart where the five essences gather. Meditating in that way is like the Samkhya school meditating on the self in the heart as being the size of a bean. That is forbidden by the Buddha, so it is not reasonable. Some later Madhyamikas also think that one should first meditate on the self to be refuted, which is the same as the Samkhya school's meditation. Furthermore, when practicing the seven births, it is said that there is a bindu like Ro-tsa-na. That refers to the fact that when red and white meet in the heart through the power of yoga, a perfect essence arises; it refers to that, not to another bindu. So, which side does the central channel mentioned above belong to, consciousness or wisdom? Relative to the left and right channels, because this channel is the basis of non-conceptualization, it is placed as the central channel because it is close to wisdom, but its nature is the side of consciousness because it is the basis of karma wind, so it is called the karma central channel. The wisdom central channel is the pervader of all channels, as the glorious Hevajra says: 'All of the three realms are completely transformed, abandoning both the grasped and the grasper.' Also, as the Dakinisagara says: 'Thus, the pervader of all central channels abides in this.' This is what was said. Second, regarding the explanation of the left and right channels, (it is divided into) the explanation of the entity and the combination with scriptural evidence. First: The left and right channels, arise from the navel and connect to the kidneys, then slightly converge in the heart, pass under the armpits to the throat, from the small end connect to the crown of the head, and the tips emerge upwards in the two nostrils. Below, the three channels converge and then separate, the right channel Ro-ma (Tibetan: རོ་མ) performs the function of excreting and retaining blood and feces, and the left channel Kyang-ma (Tibetan: རྐྱང་མ) excretes and retains urine. It is said that above the navel is where the wind moves, and there are sixty-four channels in the navel, which nourish all the inner and outer winds.

It is connected to the great pulse, then slightly gathers in the heart, connected to the pulse on the right side of the heart that serves as the basis for the pervading, and connected to the pulse on the left side that serves as the basis for the giver, passing through the armpit and connected to the pulse silver gathering mentioned in medical texts. Then it gathers in the throat, a small tip pierces through, penetrates below the two ears, connects to the pulse of the tree, penetrates the brain marrow and connects to the crown of the head. Then, mucus arises upwards in the two nostrils. Below, the three pulses separate from the confluence, the function of excreting and controlling blood and feces is performed by the right Roma, and it is said that the left Kyangma controls the excretion of urine. From where is it said? In the Glorious Hevajra it is said: Kyangma flows immovably downwards, Roma likewise flows blood, the moon of wisdom flows, this is known as the most excellent of all manifestations. Thus it is said. Above the navel, wind flows, and the pulses at the navel are the four empty pulses that branch out from the central channel (224). From these, three branch out into three, so there are twelve. From these, five branch out into five, so there are sixty. The four empty pulses are the basis of the Kalachakra. Furthermore, it is said that there are thirty-six aggregates and thirty-six elements, totaling seventy-two pulses, at the navel, which is also said to be the outer circumference of the Kalachakra pulses. Therefore, externally, it is the wind that flows from the two nostrils above and the three doors below, and internally, it nourishes all the winds of the great life force. The way the navel pulses branch out is slightly different from the Kalachakra, but here it is explained as it is in the self-commentary. The way it is spoken of in the Stainless Light will be explained below. Secondly, combining it with scripture: This is from the First Buddha: That is three tips downwards, likewise upwards also three tips. The Rahu tip is located in the center, the sun's tip is on the right, the moon's tip is on the left. Water and fire and then space move. From the lower ends of the right, left, and central channels, it is said that urine and semen flow. Pulses like iron hooks bound, are the three paths of life and downward cleansing. Thus it is said. This explanation is consistent with what is said in the root tantra called the First Buddha (225), namely:
