) and so on are clearly stated in the commentary on the tantra. As it is said: The perfect age, the three-part age, the two-part age, and the age of strife arise from the conjunction of times. In whatever part the powerful wheel-holder fully enters, there the perfect age passes away. Behind the king is the three-part age, and the age of strife is also in front, and between the two is the two-part age. The number of years of each of these ages is twenty-one thousand six hundred. The measure of each is multiplied by time and arrows, which is what people call a hundred years. So it is said. In its commentary it is also said: The perfect age, the three-part age, the two-part age, and the age of strife arise from the conjunction of times, here the four ages such as the perfect age are not the great perfect age and so on. These four ages arise from the conjunction of times, time is the wheel of the twelve houses. Its conjunction is the conjunction of times, which arises from the division of the four directions. In whatever part the powerful wheel-holder fully enters, there the perfect age passes away. The passing of the perfect age means that the Dharma of the perfectly enlightened Buddha passes away. Behind the king is the three-part age, which means that after the king, at the end of the perfect age, one foot of Dharma is missing, and at the end of the three-part age, two feet are missing, which becomes the three-part age. The age of strife is also before the king, which means that at the end of the age of strife, four feet of Dharma are missing. Between the two is the two-part age, which means that between the age of strife and the three-part age, three feet of Dharma are missing, which is the two-part age. The number of years of these four ages is twenty-one thousand six hundred, the number of twenty-one thousand with six hundred more. The measure of each is multiplied by time and arrows, time is four and arrows are five, multiplied by the number fifty-four, which is multiplied by time and arrows. What people call a hundred years. Multiplying by a hundred years, it becomes five thousand with four hundred more, that is, each age

It is said that the degrees are equal. Here, in terms of timing, it is about the complete fulfillment of the four great periods. Secondly, regarding the manner in which the womb-born are formed during the age of strife, it is the order of arising dependent on the causes and conditions of the six elements, and the manner in which they enter the womb (179), and the order of birth from that. The first is: From then on, the formation of the womb-born is: This body is a collection of elements. All come from the six tastes of food and drink. It is the cause for the formation of the four elements. The six tastes come from the five elements, and are stabilized by the union of space and the wisdom of bliss. The tiny seed in the lotus, holding is the nature of the earth element, water nourishes, fire ripens, wind makes it grow, and the sky opens up space. That which causes it to grow, also through the mixture of Bho la and Kakkola, the hard touch is habit, and earth arises from that. From the nature of Bodhicitta semen, the water element arises, movement generates heat, and shaking is known as wind. Bliss is the nature of the sky itself, the five surround consciousness. It is said that, having explained the manner in which the beings of the first kalpa are born, next is the manner in which the womb-born are formed during the age of strife. That is, at the time of union in the womb, generally, all of body, speech, and mind are manifestations of mind, so all are appearances of one's own mind, but due to the increased power of other's delusions, the white and red of the parents and the consciousness of the intermediate state being, these three become the proximate cause (180) for this body, the thirty-six elements such as internal hair, skin, flesh, bones, etc., are formed. And the collection of elements, the six tastes of food and drink consumed by the mother, become the cause for the formation of the four elements of internal hardness, moisture, warmth, and lightness. If asked how the six tastes generate the five elements, sourness generates wisdom, astringency is space, bitterness is wind, pungency is fire, sweetness is water, and saltiness is earth. Thus, with the pervasive five elements as the cause, space opens up space, the wisdom of bliss, that is, the bliss of the meeting of the white and red of the parents, the intermediate state sentient being grasps as self, causing all to meet and combine.
