It is not necessarily the case. Here, even the deity who is the antidote to hatred is visualized as having the form of hatred, and visualization is done by adding to that hatred. So, on the path of abandonment, one meditates on the antidote that contradicts the mode of grasping, and here, one meditates by adding to hatred, will that become an antidote? Are these two contradictory? If you ask, according to the determination of the Kalachakra, although the mode of grasping is contradictory from the perspective of the body, from the perspective of the mind, it becomes the antidote that recognizes its own nature. For example, when meditating on love as the antidote to hatred, hatred produces redness, so from the perspective of the body it is fire, but love produces whiteness, so it is water. These two are enemies in the mundane world, so they become antidotes that contradict the mode of grasping. However, from the perspective of the mind, hatred is also water, so love itself becomes the antidote that recognizes its own nature. These two, adding to hatred and meditating, are not contradictory. (708) Therefore, the antidote that contradicts the mode of grasping can abandon the imputed part of the afflictions, while this transformation path can abandon the innate part, so this transformation path is particularly excellent in terms of both ease of salvation and quick salvation. Moreover, this itself is quick because one visualizes the form of the deity through conceptual thought, and it is a path because what is established through conceptual thought is also established in accordance with reality. This can also be exemplified by the three, such as feelings, mindfulness, and close placement, and should be understood. Making the basis of things into the path is the completion stage, that is, binding the coarse and subtle bodily activities, from the very subtle body, the empty form manifests, this is body mindfulness close placement. The feeling of bliss itself manifests as great bliss, this is feeling mindfulness close placement. The nature of all dharmas, union, arises beforehand, this is dharma mindfulness close placement. Similarly, the four right abandonments and the four legs of miraculous power also have these three paths, so they should be applied and understood separately. (709) This is what we have found only from the words of the King of Conquerors, so it is written clearly here. Here it is said: By the power of the countless merits accumulated in the past,

Meet with me. As it is said, from the water treasury of sixty branches, This wish-fulfilling jewel of good speech arises. This is an intermediate verse. Second, explaining the path of union: Having understood the key points of the channels, winds, and bindus, From the practice place of Samantabhadra, the heat stove, One abides in the path of union itself. At that time, with the conduct of vows, Having transcended the path of union, one unites with the path of seeing. This is the path of individually gathering, And possessing the four dhyanas, It is also said that the channels are to be purified. With the perfection of the limbs of dhyana, It is said that one obtains the five superknowledges. One enters the mandala of the body. As it is said. That is to say, the boundary for entering the completion stage is that, according to the certainty of the unsurpassed tantra class, having understood the key points of the three channels, winds, and bindus, and the method of binding, continuously cultivating the practice of the completion stage (710) is the practice of Samantabhadra, and abiding in that one obtains heat, and then one abides in the path of union itself. The signs of obtaining heat are also obtaining the experience of bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality with signs such as smoke. There, how should one abandon what is to be abandoned? As it is said in the Hevajra Tantra: "Fear, anger, as well as suffering, Sorrow also harms." As it is said, not being harmed by fear, anger, sorrow, etc., being able to subdue them in return is middling, and "the arising of the fruit of benefit and harm," as it is said, obtaining the qualities of the fruit of samadhi—superknowledges and miraculous powers, etc.—is great heat, and these are one of the first three common paths of union. At that time, in order to stimulate the potential of the path of union, there are two kinds of vows, namely with and without elaboration, of which the conduct with elaboration is to meditate by mixing with various conditions, while the inner conduct without elaboration is to abandon the two mudras of action and wisdom, and to unite with the great mudra, and to continuously cultivate with diligence, thereby transcending the path of union (711) and uniting with the path of seeing. As it is said in the tantra: "After obtaining a little heat, If one wishes to practice, By this one can accomplish what is desired, That is the practice itself. One who wishes to practice vows should practice, One who does not wish to accomplish with inner practice."
