e lece (629) The edge of the mandala is situated in both directional and non-directional states. Thus, it is certain that the many qualities of the supreme Vajra of the body are described as the aspects of the mandala. So it is said. Third, explaining the nature of skillful means and wisdom: Mutual skillful means and wisdom, right and left, body and mind, white and red, and all that are dependent and depended upon, are said to be the nature of skillful means and wisdom. The tantra that mainly teaches wisdom is the Wisdom Tantra. The tantra that mainly teaches skillful means is the Father Tantra. Everything is of a non-dual nature. The eye is skillful means, form is wisdom. Form is skillful means, the eye is wisdom. The nose is skillful means, wind is wisdom. The shin is wisdom, wind is skillful means. The male is skillful means, the mind is wisdom. The female is wisdom, the mind is skillful means. The center is wisdom, the directions are skillful means. Ultimate truth is skillful means, conventional truth is wisdom, and vice versa. These and other immeasurable things should be known. The order of colors, qualities, etc., is explained as it is taught in the winds. So it is said. All the deities and mandalas mentioned above abide in the nature of skillful means and wisdom (630). Moreover, in general, when distinguishing between skillful means and wisdom, the near and far hills are skillful means and wisdom because they are established in relation to each other. The right side is established as skillful means, and the left side as wisdom, which is relational skillful means and wisdom. The body is established as skillful means, and the mind as wisdom, which is the skillful means and wisdom of the dependent and the depended upon, because the mind arises in dependence on it. In the Father Tantra, the white element arising from the body of skillful means is wisdom, and the red element arising from the body of wisdom is established as skillful means because it is established in relation, so it is established as skillful means and wisdom. The outer world and the sentient beings within are the skillful means and wisdom of the dependent and the depended upon because they are due to interdependent origination. By analogy, all that is dependent and depended upon should be understood. Thus, from what is actually taught as the nature of skillful means and wisdom, the five skillful means and wisdom that are reversed from the perspective of body and mind become the ten root skillful means and wisdom. Depending on this order of skillful means and wisdom, all seals (631) can also be understood, such as the skillful means and wisdom of the eastern deity Amoghasiddhi being embraced by the western goddess Locanā from the Kalachakra.

The gods of the south, Ratnasambhava, and the goddess of the north, Māmaki, speaking of Garudas and so on, are called enriching with different kinds. Enriching on the left and right is enriching Roma with Jyangma, enriching the grasped wind with the grasping wind, and enriching the body with the mind. As it is said in the Hevajra: If the mind is with the body, it abides, and if the body is with the mind, it is beautiful. Enriching the body with the mind and enriching the mind with the body, enriching attachment Amitābha with miserliness Ratnasambhava, and enriching envy Amoghasiddhi with attachment Amitābha. The white lunar realm of bliss is enriched by the red solar realm of emptiness, emptiness by bliss, and the realm of space by wisdom, and so on. All the natures of skillful means and wisdom should be understood. (632) The meaning that arises from this is that the tantras of the wisdom mother show the aspect of wisdom as the main subject of expression, and the tantras of the skillful means father show skillful means as the main subject of expression. All tantras are, in meaning, tantras of the nature of non-duality of skillful means and wisdom, because what is expressed is union. As it is said in the Hevajra: The tantra is the nature of skillful means and wisdom. I have spoken of this, listen. And as it is said in the Shri Guhyasamāja: Yoga is not merely the method of skillful means, nor is it merely wisdom alone. The Tathāgata spoke of yoga as the equal union of skillful means and wisdom. And: Because skillful means is the origin, destruction is also the end of wisdom. And so on, extensively spoken. In the Shri Kalachakra, from the aspect of the limbs, when the eye is skillful means, form is wisdom, and conversely, when form becomes skillful means, the eye is wisdom. Likewise, for all six aggregates, such as the ear and sound, one should understand the way to combine skillful means and wisdom with each other. The noble Nāgārjuna (633) said in the Shri Guhyasamāja that the eyes and so on are the essence of the earth and so on, and then said: Meditate on the union of forms and so on. This is saying that form Vajradhātu and so on are wisdom. Furthermore, from the perspective of the channels, when Roma is skillful means, the inner wind is wisdom.

When solely established as wisdom, the inner air transforms into means. From the perspective of the support, if the male body is the means, then the mind is wisdom; if the female body is wisdom, then the mind is means. From the perspective of direction, if the center is wisdom, then the periphery is stability. From the perspective of the two truths, ultimate truth is the clear light means, and conventional truth is illusion-like wisdom, which is the means and wisdom established from the perspective of the Mother Tantra. Moreover, there are instances where means are referred to as wisdom, as stated by the noble Nagarjuna: "Whatever arises dependently, the Buddha saw as the meaning of reality. Therefore, he knows beings to be empty." There are also instances where wisdom is referred to as means, as stated in the Sutra of the Garland of Glory: "This attainment of liberation through relying on the nature of all phenomena being emptiness is the means of entering the essence of the Thus-Gone One." Similarly, the means and wisdom of the limbs should also be understood in reverse. In particular, all conventional truths are means, and their self-nature of emptiness is explained as wisdom. The distinctions of means, such as these, are immeasurable and should be learned and understood through the three aspects of outer, inner, and secret. The establishment of the order of colors and qualities as means and wisdom is also stated here, as previously shown in the chapter on air. Fourth, explaining the certainty of generation and completion stages: Form is the body, air and speech are mantra, mind is bindu, which is said to be the completion stage. Birth is the indication of the generation stage, and death itself is the completion stage. Conceptualization is called the generation stage, other-powered relation is explained as the completion stage. Conventional truth is the generation stage, ultimate truth is explained as the completion stage. The two truths and means are all the generation stage, and non-dual wisdom is said to be the completion stage. As it is said. So, what is the basis of imputation for the generation stage? The basis of imputation for form-body is the channels, air is speech, speech is the basis of imputation for mantra, and mind is the heart, bindu is the basis of imputation. Moreover, for the generation stage, that which is not connected to the vital points of channels, air, and bindu is the non-profound generation stage, and that which is connected is called the profound generation stage.
