That is, thirty-six. The mandalas that are combined as appropriate from those are: the mandala of five deities and (625) nine deities, thirteen, nineteen, twenty-five, thirty-two, thirty-four, thirty-seven, and a hundred families, etc. Those are also rough divisions made from the perspective of the number of channels, winds, bindus, and chakras. In detail, just as the number of conceptualizations to be purified, the number of deities that purify are also shown to be that many. Know that the number of faces, hands, and hand implements are also the same as the number of conceptualizations. Moreover, all the deity assemblies of the four great tantras are included in these roots of the families. The single heruka hero who is pure in essence is the single family. The two families that are pure in the two truths or skillful means and wisdom are the father and mother deities. The three families of deities that are pure in body, speech, and mind, or the three channels, winds, and bindus. The four families of deities that are pure in the four elements. On top of that, the five families of deities that are pure with the pervasive space element. That is, with the distinction of the five wisdoms, there are twenty-five families. That again with the distinction of skillful means and wisdom, there are fifty families. That again with the distinction of (626) body and mind, there are a hundred families, etc. In the root tantra called "Supreme First Buddha," it says: "Three families and five families, one nature and a hundred families." Thus it is said. Those hundred families are also distinguished from the aspect of branches, and the view that corresponds to the number of channels, winds, bindus, and chakras shown before. Moreover, in the Kalachakra, it is said that there is a wheel of a mandala of one hundred and twenty thousand. Similarly, in the Shri Chakrasamvara, it is also said that the mandala including the deities of the charnel ground has two thousand eight hundred and twenty-eight deities revolving twelve times, etc. In short, the number of deities equal to the number of conceptualizations to be purified is also said. Moreover, the distinction of families is also made from the aspect of faces and hand implements. As it is said in Hevajra: "The one family is the assembly of the Tathagata family assembly, the family has a hundred forms. Those from the family have a hundred thousand great families, the distinctions of"

The number of castes becomes nonexistent. Among those countless castes, those with (627) castes are born from the supremely joyful caste. Thus it is said. The meaning of this is that the "Lord of the Co-emergent One and Two Objects" has already been extensively explained with scriptural citations. Secondly, the determination of the mandala: Explaining the mandala in the body: Like the external world, the earth and lines, gathered together with shapes, I explain as the appearance of the mandala. As it is said, just as the external world is complete in the body, so too the wheel of the mandala is complete in the body. Like the mandalas of successively layered elements in the external world, if applied to the inner body, from the sole of the foot, the mandala of the lower base wind, to the crossroads of the earth mandala. The square shape of the mandala is the body that is equal in all four directions. The left, right, front, and back are the four sides, and the four holes above and below are the four doors. This is just a brief explanation here, but for a more detailed explanation, one should consult the tantras and the treatises of the accomplished (628) masters, especially Rangjung Dorje's "Appearance of the Mandala," where it is said, "At the foot of the foot, the great iron wheel wind, abides in the shape of a bow." Also, in the "Definitive Words, Hundred Thousand Verses," it is said, "The line of Sindhu Vajra is round." In the Kalachakra it is also said: "The pillars and the vajra garlands, the earth's surroundings, the walls themselves are made of bones. The gods, Yama, and the wealth-givers apply powdered colors elsewhere with flesh, blood, water, and excrement. Bile and phlegm are like the sun and the rabbit, and the water veins are like lotuses. The lines of the five enclosures are made of earth, water, fire, wind, and space. The lotus, the chief of the time's channels, moves, and the surrounding fire, etc., are made of skin, etc. The sun's doors, the holes, etc., are arranged with the nature of jewels, and the garland of teeth is the same. Abiding in the moving surroundings, in the eight great charnel grounds, the wheels are made of the fingernails of the fingers. The hairs are vajras.
