Just as the outer world, the inner Vajra body, and other mandalas are shown as one in the Kalachakra, so too are they shown as one here. Second, in the extensive explanation, places are assigned to the inner, elements accumulated in sequence are assigned to the inner, and the mountains, seven continents, five elements, seven seas, nine planets, three fires, birthplaces, and time cycles (605) are assigned to the inner and explained. The first is: "From the crown of the head to four fingers, the formless realm dwells below that, sixteen fingers are the form realm, below that are the desire gods and humans. From the navel to the sole of the foot, the Asuras, Nagas, and Pretas, and the order of the eight hells are spoken of." As it is said, the body is divided into four cubits, each cubit having twenty-four fingers. That is, the two cubits from the head to the navel are the abodes of the gods of the form and formless realms, and the desire gods and humans, and the two cubits below the navel are the abodes of the Asuras, Nagas, Pretas, and hells. If they are assigned in order, then from the crown of the head, the four fingers are the abode of the four formless realms, such as the realm of neither perception nor non-perception. Below that, the sixteen fingers of the face are the sixteen form realm gods, such as Akanistha. Below that, up to the navel, are the six desire realm gods and humans. From the navel to the sole of the foot, the places where they dwell in order are: from the navel to the fork of the road is the (606) mandala of earth, the upper half of which is the Asuras, Nagas, and Pretas, and the lower half is the first place of hell, the hell of the water of the cutting; the two thighs are the mandala of water, the upper half of which is the hell of sandy water, and the lower half is the two hells of muddy water; the two shanks are the mandala of fire, the upper half of which is the fire hell, and the lower half is the two hells of unbearable smoke; below the ankle joints is the mandala of wind, the upper half of which is unbearable darkness, and the lower half is crying, the two hells of wind. The eighth Vajra hell has no separate place, so those who dwell on the sole of the foot are spoken of in order. As it is said in the Stainless Light Sutra, "I am the place of Brahma," and so on, the upper realms are spoken of, and here it is said that the place of Brahma in the body is the crown of the head.

From the end of the throat it becomes the realm of the high heavens, and the best hands become the realm of the human world. The feet become the realm of the underworld. As it says there, from the end of the wind to (607) Mount Sumeru, the seventh and eighth hells are the city of the qualified, and the hells of the city of the qualified are two hundred thousand yojanas. Here, there are fifty thousand wheels of wind, and in that violent wind, the two places of the Great Crying Hell and the Great Darkness are twenty-five thousand yojanas above and below. The Chinese measure is the measure of the earth's wheel. Similarly, the wheel of fire has two hells, one is the hell of fire, and above it is the hell of unbearable smoke. Similarly, the wheel of water has two hells, one is the muddy water, completely filled with mud and water, and the other is the sandy water, completely filled with sand and water, which is very cold. The wheel of earth has a gravel water hell of twenty-five thousand yojanas. Above it is the city of the qualified, twenty-five thousand yojanas above and below. It has two measures, half is the place of the Asuras, and half is the place of the world of the Nagas. Similarly, on the body, from the sole of the foot (608) to the waist, there are two cubits. Divide these two cubits into eight parts, and recognize each part in turn as the hells and the city of the qualified. Because it is said by combining the inside and the outside. Second, combining the layering of elements: the three joints of the legs and hands are in order the wheels of wind, fire, and water. The chest is earth. As it is said, in terms of height, the three joints of the ankle, knee, and thigh are in order the wheels of wind, fire, and water, and the wheel of the earth at the triple junction. In terms of width, the three joints of the wrist, elbow, and shoulder are in order the wheels of wind, fire, and water. The chest is the wheel of earth. Third, combining the mountains: the spine is Mount Sumeru, the seven mountains are between the thigh, knee, shin bone, arm, forearm, hand, and fingernails.
