Through form, one becomes attached to the welfare of sentient beings, and having accumulated the collections of merit and wisdom, one will attain the supreme enlightenment. Thus it is said. This meaning is also spoken of in the Uttaratantra, the text called "Auspicious Garland," and the Sutra of the Descent into Lanka, and so forth. Now, how is the method of transforming the alaya-consciousness into wisdom taught in the Secret Mantra? The complete path of abandoning the alaya-consciousness depends on mantra. Therefore, the wisdom of the alaya is naturally luminous, and because it is not stained by the characteristics of grasping and being grasped, one should meditate on the luminosity of day and night, which has the characteristic of being clear and non-conceptual. In this, during the day, relying on the yoga of tummo, the luminosity of the four joys, and the joy born together arising as an illusory deity, is the luminosity of the illusory body. At night, it is the luminosity of deep sleep and the luminosity of dreams. This is to be practiced from the door of the four root dharmas among the Six Dharmas of Naropa. Such luminosity is called emptiness endowed with all supreme aspects. Therefore, abiding single-pointedly in that state is also called meditating on the Great Seal. It is also called abiding in the Great Seal. The all-supreme aspect here, in the Paramitas, refers to the all-supreme aspect of means such as generosity. In the Kalachakra and so forth, it refers to the clarification of all aspects of knowable things. Here, both are applicable. The Great Vehicle Uttaratantra says: Generosity, discipline, patience, etc., endowed with all supreme aspects, emptiness is expressed as form. Wisdom, jnana, and liberation, because of being clear, radiant, and pure, and because of being non-different, are light and rays, like the mandala of the sun itself. Therefore, until Buddhahood is attained, nirvana is not attained, just as one cannot see the sun if one abandons light and rays. Thus it is said. Avalokiteshvara spoke this meaning from the stainless light: Abandon all action seals, completely eliminate wisdom seals, truly born from the Great Seal, co-emergent other

It does not accompany. Transcending the practice of discursive thoughts. Mahamudra, the unchanging bliss. Grasping and the grasped, shapes are purified, discrimination and speech are completely abandoned. Like the appearance of a Gandharva city, the nature of a reflection in a mirror. Combining the essence of wisdom and means. I prostrate to the letter E-VAM (ཨེ་བཾ,梵文:evam,梵文罗马拟音:evam,Thus). Transcending the nature of the finest particles, the nature of a reflection in a mirror, the supreme mother possessing all kinds of excellence, I prostrate to Mahamudra. Thus it is said. Also, in the same text, it is said: Mahamudra is the nature of all phenomena without inherent existence, possessing all kinds of excellence, the Prajnaparamita, the mother who gives birth to the Buddhas. Thus it is said. In the King of Root Tantras (521) it is also said: Emptiness is the collection of things, abandoning the form that is examined, it is not an inert object. This is seen as in a mirror, the face of a young maiden reflected in a mirror. Thus it is said. To practice this, one should understand it through the four aspects: the basis to be trained, the impurities to be trained, the path of training, and the result of training. The basis to be trained is the clear light of deep sleep and the moment of death, together with the alaya-vijnana. The alaya-vijnana is the impurity to be trained. The stages of the path of training are: the yoga of clear light from among the four root dharmas of the Six Dharmas of Naropa, and the stages of the path of clear light as taught from the fifth stage onwards. The result of training is the Dharmakaya among the four kayas. To practice this, there are preliminaries and the main practice. Firstly, the yogi who wishes to practice clear light should arrange a vast Ganachakra offering to the heroes and dakinis, offer lamps with abundant oil, incense with abundant fat, and tormas adorned with abundant meat (522), practice Guru Yoga, strongly pray to realize clear light, and strongly aspire to hold onto it. The key to the time is the time of deep sleep. After consuming nourishing foods such as meat and alcohol, one should stay awake at night and hold onto it at the time of deep sleep at dawn. The key to the place is the heart. At the time of deep sleep, the prana and mind gather in the heart, so hold onto it at that time.
