It is said by Grokharmar that the place where Madu grows is Mount Tise, which, according to both internal and external traditions, is the abode of the Great Lord, and so on. It is said in the Vinaya that the elephant-protected son of the earth relied on it, and the Sarvastivadins say that it was taught by Rabtan. If you outsiders take the scriptures as a measure, then the Ganges River, or the Auspicious Chariot, which flows in the sacred land, is also believed by the outsiders to flow from Mount Tise. As it is said in the commentary on the "Excellent Praise," written by the scholar Sherab Gocha: "The Great Self, the Poisonous One," and so on, in the story, from the rest of Wind-Obtained and Earth-Lord, Cholpa became king, and his son, named Minwa, was given the throne. As I heard that my uncles were born in hell because of this reason, those things (p. 459), the Poisonous One, or my father Cholpa, did nothing, but now I want to do it, so in order to bring down the Ganges, he practiced asceticism for three hundred thousand years, but was unable to bring down the Ganges. After he passed away, his son Bhagoratha pleased Brahma with great asceticism, and Brahma granted him a boon, saying, "By all means, I will bring down the Ganges to the human world." Then Brahma also said to the Ganges, "Flow into the human world." That was very sad, "If I go there, I will become drinkable, and even low castes and others will rely on me, how should I deal with this situation? It is also unreasonable to disobey my grandfather's command. However, I want to go with great force and enter the underground." "Are you going to flow underground without purifying in the human world?" Thus he stopped him. Mahadeva placed him in his own mass of hair. From then on, (p. 460) for a thousand years, he revolved and wandered, but could not find the end of that hair. Then, Bhagoratha again pleased the great god with great asceticism, and untied his hair, and a drop fell on the top of Mount Ritise, in an instant.
