This should be asked: From this central land, crossing nine black mountains, where is the first mountain located? What is its shape and (452) size? Similarly, where are the second to ninth mountains located, and what are their shapes and distances? Please explain. If these cannot be identified, then what lies beyond them cannot be identified either. If these cannot be identified, then Mount Kailash, Lake Manasarovar, and the fragrant mountain cannot be identified either, so first please explain what the nature of these nine black mountains is. After that, Mount Kailash and so on will also become identifiable. The phrase "from this central land" is not the meaning of the scripture. Regarding this, the auto-commentary of the Abhidharmakosha says: "To the north of this Jambudvipa, beyond the nine black mountains, there is a snow mountain. Beyond that snow mountain, on this side of the mountain with fragrance, there is a lake called Lake Manasarovar, from which the great rivers Ganga, Sindhu, Sita, and Pakshu flow. Its surface is fifty yojanas wide, and the water is also fifty yojanas deep, filled with water possessing eight qualities. There, it is difficult for people without magical powers to travel." Therefore, it is only said that it is difficult for people without magical powers (453) to travel there, but it is not said that it is impossible to travel. Therefore, the difficulty of travel refers to the difficulty for Indians to travel, not for Tibetans. For example, it is difficult to travel from Tibet to India, but some people are still able to travel. Furthermore, the current Mount Kailash is not the real Mount Kailash, because it does not possess the characteristics of Mount Kailash as described in the Sutra of Mindfulness. As the Noble Dharma Sutra of Mindfulness says: "What kinds of mountains are there in the northern direction? Seen by wisdom born from hearing or by divine eye, there is a mountain called Mount Kailash, with peaks of various shapes, a thousand yojanas high, with small leaves, filled with fir trees and rhododendrons, also filled with sal trees, tala trees, and tamala trees, kinnaras and yakshas roam there, possessing flesh-eaters and yakshas, that mountain is very...
