། In the near path, there are two each, totaling thirty-six places. The forty-eight places are mentioned in the Ocean of Dakinis: "Then, the places and near places, etc., are spoken of in order. The place is Mount Gangpo Ri, Net Holder, Oddiyana, and Arbuda, likewise, are places. Godavari is a near place, the city of the Joyful Lord Goddess, and Gya'i Yul is also a near place. Desire Realm, likewise, Ote and Trisha Kuna, Kosala realm, Kalinga and Lamba, Kanchi Khawa are places and near places. Ghost City and House Goddess, Saurashtra and Golden Island, are desires, near desires are the city of Sindhu, Maru, and Kulata are also near desires. Gathering at the riverbank, and well-spoken in the garden sea, the crossroads of the road are near gatherings. Mountain top, city center, mountain of youthful ones with retinues, and the realm of lineage are also near gatherings. Cemetery Mummuniya, conduct, Harikela, and the city of illusion are cemeteries. Near cemeteries are the mountainside, the realm of mantras and the city of gods, Karnata and Pata are also spoken of at the city's edge. The city's edge is Konkana, the realm of the pervasive lord's activities, the city dense with yoginis, likewise, here are near city edges. Father's forest and the walls of houses, Tengka and ponds." As such, they are spoken of as places and near places, realms and near realms, desires and near desires, gatherings and near gatherings, cemeteries and near cemeteries, city edges and near city edges, all divided into four each, hence forty-eight places. The latter two are spoken of as blood-drinking. In the Kalachakra of the Blessed One, externally, the world of four hundred thousand kotis, and internally, the purity of the four-cubit Vajra body, making the empowerment of union, hence spoken of as eighteen places, as the Glorious Tantra says: "The directions of the Glorious Mount Meru, all the circles of the earth are complete, all the places and near places, realms and desires and those with gatherings, the charnel ground is at the boundary of fire and wind." And in its commentary: "The directions of the Glorious Mount Meru, that is, the eight directions, the circles of the earth are complete, the places, etc."

The so-called places and near places (417), a place refers to the four directions where the four natures of wind, fire, water, and earth reside. The east is Purvavideha, the south is Jambudvipa minor continent, the north is Uttarakuru, and the west is Aparagodaniya. A near place refers to its nature in all directions, namely the directions of fire, non-truth, power, and wind. Similarly, a field and a near field refer to half of the ocean. Desire and near desire refer to the other half of the ocean. Possessor of assembly and near possessor of assembly refer to half of the fire wheel. A house and a near house refer to the other half of the earth. A charnel ground and a near charnel ground refer to half of the wind wheel. In total, there are forty-eight places. Also, in the same scripture, it says that the eight great charnel grounds are on the edge of the wind wheel. Therefore, it also becomes fifty-six places. The root tantra also says: The place in the east is Purvavideha, the south is Jambudvipa, the west is Aparagodaniya of the west, and the north is Uttarakuru of the north. The near continents without direction are the land of near place transformation. Similarly, fields (418) and everything else are in the wheel of the ocean and so on. So it is said. These places and so on are not spoken of in terms of yogis entering practice, because the three wheels of water, fire, and wind are also spoken of, and also in terms of inner and outer union. Therefore, places and so on should be understood as twelve places, and there are also twelve places on the body, namely the twelve joints of the hands and feet. Because it is said so. Here, for the sake of allowing yogis with childlike minds to enter practice, the thirty-seven places of Jalandhara and so on are clearly explained. In other tantras, they are hidden and not spoken of. The glorious tantra says: By completely separating the thirty-seven, the dharmas of the bodhi side are in the places of the three existences. All these yoginis, yogis should recognize in the places on the earth. Thus, all places and so on, the lord of men transforms in the outer and also in the body. So it is said. The commentary also says: I am the place (419) and so on, and the near place.
