Furthermore, the *Mahāyāna Sūtras* that teach the *Tathāgatagarbha* (Essence of the Thus-Gone) doctrine show that it benefits all sentient beings and performs extremely difficult deeds. It also shows that those sentient beings who adhere to it are also performing extremely difficult deeds. As it says: 'In the southern regions, the *Mahāyāna* will be taught, diligently making its essence, being separated from the eight great faults, the Thus-Gone is constant, permanent, peaceful, and the *Tathāgatagarbha* is stable.' My *Śrāvaka* (Hearer) monks, nuns, laymen, and laywomen will diligently make its essence. They will take on the burden of my teachings.' etc. The merit of hearing the *Tathāgatagarbha* will cause one to be free from illness, harmless, long-lived, and all beings will be happy. The Thus-Gone is constant, eternal, and steadfast, and hearing that *Nirvana* is imperishable, all will be fulfilled and long-lasting.' etc. Those who wish to teach the Dharma should teach in this way: 'The Thus-Gone should be praised as constant and truthful.' If they do not teach in this way and abandon the *Tathāgatagarbha*, it is like giving the king's ox to a *Caṇḍāla* (outcaste), and he should not sit on the lion throne.' etc., which are extensively spoken of in the scriptures. In the sūtra teaching the inconceivable qualities and wisdom of the *Tathāgata*, it also states: 'If a *Bodhisattva* practices the five *Pāramitās* (Perfections) for eighty thousand million *kalpas* (aeons), and another *Bodhisattva* believes that the *Tathāgata* is constant, then the latter will generate immeasurable merit.' etc. In the *Mahāmegha Sūtra* (Great Cloud Sūtra), *Mahāmeghacitta Bodhisattva* (Great Cloud Mind Bodhisattva) said to the *Bhagavan* (Blessed One): 'Bhagavan, with which sūtras do *Bodhisattvas* become an ocean of *Samādhi* (meditative concentration)?' etc. Similarly, if they see the *Tathāgata* as constant, and clearly see that the *Tathāgata* is constant and steadfast, they will become the king of praise and say: 'The *Tathāgata* is a steadfast body.' They will also speak of steadfastness, and the *Tathāgata* is the nature of peace. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It will also transform into a perfect view of manifest joy. The Tathagata is permanent, constant, stable, and peaceful. Like this, it will also transform into all kinds of oceans of views. For sentient beings who proclaim impermanence, emptiness, nirvana, and selflessness, the greatness of the Tathagata's virtues lies in the meaning of abiding in the nature of permanence, constancy, stability, and peace of complete nirvana, and in order to tame those sentient beings who are about to say that the Dharma is declining, to purify the eyes of the stable nature of the Dharma. Moreover, for the Tathagata Arhat Samyaksambuddha, spreading words and letters with profound meaning that are in accordance with you, and in order to make the greatness of the Tathagata's virtues of all sentient beings a treasure of permanent characteristics, a treasure of stable Dharma, and a treasure of the unparalleled Sutra King possessed by those similar to you, and a treasure of Dharma teachings, and in order to make the nectar of all sentient beings an inexhaustible treasure, it is good to ask the Tathagata, and I will declare that in order to make the treasures of all sentient beings stable and abiding. Moreover, the past Tathagata, named Constantly Emitting Light, once sat on one seat and, for five hundred great kalpas, expounded the Dharma of the Tathagatagarbha with countless metaphors. Even in the worlds of the ten directions, as numerous as hundreds of thousands of kotis of nayutas of Buddha-land dust particles, only a few assemblies were able to hear it, and even those who merely heard the name 'Tathagatagarbha' were able to gradually mature their roots of virtue and attain Buddhahood. Except for the four, namely, Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, Manjushri Bodhisattva, and Vajra Wisdom Bodhisattva. The Tathagatagarbha Sutra clearly and extensively elaborates on this. Furthermore, it is also said in that sutra: 'When I was practicing the Bodhisattva path in the past, I heard the name of this sutra from the Sugata Lion Banner, and after respectfully hearing it, I joined my palms. Because of the good deeds I have done, I quickly attained supreme Bodhi. Therefore, wise Bodhisattvas should always uphold this sutra.' And so on. It is also said in the Mahaparinirvana Sutra: 'After my Nirvana, in the human world' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
