Moreover, in order for those who have renounced and followed the Tathāgata (如来,one who has thus gone) to become sons of the Buddha, in order to realize with the Tathāgata's skillful speech and wisdom, entrust this transformation of all views to them. And so on. It is also beneficial for Aṅgulimāla (指鬘,name of a person). In the past, any sentient beings who viewed the Tathāgata's permanent body as impermanent became lepers. Even now, any sentient beings who are weak and become lepers are definitely slandering the Tathāgata's body. In the future, any sentient beings who view the Tathāgata's permanent body as impermanent will become lepers; they are none other than the monks who slander the Tathāgata's permanent body. Furthermore, in the past, many sentient beings who declined in the age of abundance and suffered from many diseases were those who viewed the Tathāgata's indestructible body as destructible. Even now, those sentient beings who decline in the age of abundance are those who view the Tathāgata's indestructible body as destructible. In the future, any sentient beings who decline in the age of abundance will be those who view the Tathāgata's indestructible body as destructible; those monks are definitely none other than those who refute the Tathāgata's clear body as unclear. In the past, any sentient beings who viewed the Tathāgata's enduring body as non-enduring were born in the womb of a noble queen and died, becoming impermanent. Even now, any sentient beings who are born in the womb of a noble queen and die are definitely slandering the Tathāgata's enduring and clear body. In the future, any sentient beings who are impermanent and short-lived are slandering the enduring body; those monks are none other than those who definitely slander the Tathāgata's enduring body. Also, in the Mahābherīsūtra (大鼓经,Great Drum Sutra): 'When teaching the words of the Tathāgatagarbha (如来藏,Tathagata-essence), by slandering, one will abandon the words of the Buddha's permanence, and therefore, one will not completely pass beyond suffering.' And so on, it was extensively taught. Therefore, one should not slander or deny the Sugata's (善逝,one who has gone to bliss) pure essence, the Tathāgatagarbha, which is the Buddha-nature or the Buddha of self-nature, but should have faith, respect, and trust, and act accordingly. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Because doing so will bring immense and immeasurable benefits. Moreover, in the *Aṅgulimālīya Sūtra* it is mentioned: 'By knowing that the *Tathāgatagarbha* (如来藏,tathāgatagarbha,तथागतगर्भ,tathāgatagarbha, the womb of the thus-gone) is eternal and exists in all sentient beings, all the good things and perfections in the world will be obtained. By hearing that the *Tathāgatagarbha* is eternal, all perfections in the past, present, and future, all the happiness of heaven and earth, will be eternally obtained.' And, 'The *Tathāgata* (如来,tathāgata,तथागत,tathāgata,thus-gone) is eternal,' from this undying word, great wisdom arises. The teacher who teaches in this way, endowed with wisdom, is the Buddha. 'Excellent! Excellent! Proclaim the *Tathāgatagarbha*. How to praise and proclaim the *Tathāgatagarbha*? Like a fire offering, read the great *sūtras* melodiously. Offer the scriptures with the drums, small drums, and cymbals of non-humans and *gandharvas*. Whenever beings constantly make offerings in this way, they are the unique eyes in the world. The *Tathāgata* has said that in the future, they will become Buddhas.' Furthermore, *Mañjuśrī* (文殊,mañjuśrī,मञ्जुश्री,mañjuśrī,gentle glory) said: 'Thus, in the south, my teachings will remain for many years. Like you, *bodhisattvas* (菩萨,bodhisattva,बोधिसत्त्व,bodhisattva, enlightenment being) perform extremely difficult deeds, even sacrificing their own lives, to benefit all sentient beings, proclaiming that the *Tathāgata* is eternal, the *Tathāgata* is real, and the *Tathāgata* is unchanging.' *Mañjuśrī*, like you, when the *dharma* (法,dharma,धर्म,dharma,law/teachings) exists for eighty years, you will bear the great burden of the *dharma*, thinking, 'I will carry the *dharma* on my shoulders,' and for the sentient beings of *Jambudvīpa* (赡部洲,jambudvīpa,जम्बुद्वीप,jambudvīpa,rose-apple island) and all the small continents, sacrificing your own life, proclaim that the *Tathāgatagarbha* is eternal, real, peaceful, and unchanging. Whether beings believe or do not believe, whether they kill or dismember my body, eventually my body will become an eternal body. *Bodhisattvas* who bear the burden and perform extremely difficult deeds will arise from the south. The *Bhagavan* (世尊,bhagavan,भगवान्,bhagavan, blessed one) declared: '*Aṅgulimāla* (指鬘,aṅgulimāla,अंगुलिमाल,aṅgulimāla,garland of fingers) *Tathāgata* also did extremely difficult deeds. In the future, when the *dharma* exists for eighty years...' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
