The key point is that it is not something fabricated, and believing that one will not be mistaken about one's own nature, as exemplified by the teachings of the final testament, and in the Dzogchen Tantra, the Great Garuda, it says: "The self-appearance, without cause or condition, is itself unobscured. Effortless and unique, unmade by anyone. The heart essence of primordial perfection enjoys the realm of spontaneous presence." And: "Confusion and non-confusion, no sentient being has a name." And in the Precious Garland it says: "Because of never having been confused, the root of ignorance is cut. Without investigation, it is primordially liberated." Such is the enlightenment that is primordially without defilement, or primordially pure. The growth of qualities, the spontaneous accomplishment of the three kayas of self-nature, and transcending the view that there is such a good Buddha elsewhere, because it is the true self-nature, in the Two Examinations it says: "Sentient beings are themselves Buddhas." And Garab Dorje said: "Self-nature is, appearing as other-nature, the two are mixed and meet." And in the Pearl Rosary it says: "The basis of non-confusion abiding as such, self-awareness is primordially clear with light. The three kayas are primordially uncreated and complete. The fruit is primordially self-abiding." Like this, the meaning of entrusting one's own nature to oneself, is not like the Madhyamaka's negation, nor like the outer tantras' belief in something to be obtained initially. Even surpassing the inner schools' symbolism of exemplary wisdom, the profound key point of seeing the wisdom of meaning directly through the gesture of pointing, is here in this unsurpassed vajra essence. Some people are overly attached to the view of critical knowledge in their attachment to wrong views, and seeing something in the inconceivable nature of reality, they say it is a false dharma. What is symbolized by the expression of exemplary wisdom, which transcends expression, what is symbolized, there is no difference between the two. The nature of reality is understood as differentiation, but not as complete exclusion. Without directly seeing the thusness of the Buddhas, relying on the speculation of verbal concepts, this denigration of the wisdom of knowledge, if everyone, especially the wise, does not take great caution, there will be a danger of abandoning the dharma of realization. In the Definitive Explanation of Intent it says: "The characteristic of individual self-awareness is the field of experience, inexpressible and with words completely cut off, non-controversial is the ultimate truth, that is the characteristic that transcends all speculation." Therefore, it is not an object of knowledge for critical knowledge, but the manifest field of experience of individual self-aware wisdom.

Seeing it as a complete severance in the land of Oddiyana, these are the undisputed words of the Lord of Dharma. What is the key to this? The compassion of Guru (Tibetan: གུ༵་རུ, Sanskrit Devanagari: Guru, Sanskrit Romanization: Guru, Chinese literal meaning: Teacher) dawns in one's own mind, dispelling the key to the hidden swirling entanglements. The profound and easy Upadesha is the two realms that explain the meaning of the Tantra. What does this mean? That is, the wisdom that dwells within oneself, through pleasing the noble Lama, a person who can protect the vows as if protecting their life, first having fully received the vase empowerment, the secret empowerment, and the wisdom empowerment. Vajradhara said: Without the empowerment of vast wisdom, it is impossible to mature through conditioned empowerment. Furthermore, in the Madhyamaka-avatara it says: In that which is without elaboration, open the door of the mandala of the mind, and the posture of the body must be firmly established. Become accustomed to it and combine the way of seeing. Manifest wisdom is symbolized by scripture. Therefore, the four ways of forcibly recognizing the wisdom of meaning, symbolized by words, at the time of the ultimate empowerment, either recognizing without relying on the key, or recognizing by relying on the key, through six ways, with the appearance of the sun of blessings, eliminating the obscurations of realization like darkness over the three doors, thereby revealing the wisdom of one's own abode, this is in the extensive empowerment, the definite number of twenty-one recognitions of the twenty-one faculties. Twenty-one minds in sequence, for light and wisdom itself, there are seven kinds of recognition, the seven stages of small minds are liberated. For the body and wisdom itself, there are also seven kinds of recognition, for the sake of the seven middling ones. For awareness itself and the Dharmadhatu, there are seven, for the sake of the great ones. Recognizing in this way, the great self-born wisdom that does not come from others dawns in one's own mind, and the uninterrupted meditation of self-nature, like a self-illuminating, unwavering stream, and the wisdom of Vipassana, awareness, the great wisdom of the exhaustion of phenomena and the extinction of names, experiencing it like a mute person eating sugar, and becoming manifest through the wisdom of individual self-awareness. Nowadays, some people take letters, songs, etc., and make fragmented notes, not relying on the Lama, not receiving empowerment, not engaging in study and practice, as it says in the Kunjed Gyalpo Tantra: Wanting to forcibly practice in one's own way. Like Rudra (Tibetan: རུ་ཏྲ, Sanskrit Devanagari: Rudra, Sanskrit Romanization: Rudra, Chinese literal meaning: Fierce), one cannot attain Buddhahood through conventional, effortful virtuous deeds; in the ultimate truth, one abides in a state of non-effort.
