This precious nectar son, if there is no abandoning of clinging, then it is the best of meditation. Thus it is said. Samaya, the root vow of the extremely profound oral instruction. The seal is as before. Third, expelling the demons by cutting the root of the mind, introducing the self-liberation meditation. By connecting the words, expelling the demons, and introducing self-grasping as merely the clinging of the mind, and establishing the clinging itself as rootless and baseless, and self-introducing the view of self-liberation, and explaining its necessity, there are three parts. The first part is, after establishing selflessness, expelling the demons, and introducing self-grasping as the clinging of the mind, and incidentally explaining its necessity. The first part is, now introducing the nature of clinging to the mind, until "it is a delusion." After introducing appearance as the mind, now introducing the nature of inner clinging to the mind, the nature of binding, without self-nature, the great abiding of self-liberation. Thus it is said. The meaning here is, why is it necessary to establish the selflessness of the person? In general, the three of body, speech, and mind, and on top of the undivided five aggregates, there is clinging to self, but it is easy to understand as a self that is not other. Because the one who takes pleasure and pain, experiences rebirth, and practices the cause and effect of karma is all mind, it is easy to arise in the mind the thought of "I." Moreover, outsiders also label consciousness as self. In order to prevent that meaning, most treasure teachings say that the clinging one is the self of the person, and the clung-to is the self of phenomena. There are many ways to establish selflessness, such as the sevenfold chariot reasoning. Here, because it is included in the system of oral instructions, although it is not specifically elaborated with words, the meaning is the same, so it is done as a method of introduction. In order to help those of the first type, if only one line of reasoning is used to refute each object to be refuted, and it is not repeated again and again, it cannot be determined, so start by calling the child by name. When calling "Azer," when calling from your name, that thought of "I," is the emptiness and clarity of mind itself that cannot be grasped, from the side of appearance it is a series of momentary thoughts, the body is matter, if analyzed it is a collection of many limbs, speech is like the echo of a rock, if analyzed it is fragments of letters.

However, apart from you imposing the name "I" on these which have no place of reliance that is self-sufficient, there is not even a little that can be established as a thing that is identified as the nature of the basis of designation. This clinging to "I" is your own delusion, because you cling to many as one, and because you make what is not established the basis of designation. That is, the three of body, speech, and mind, and the aggregates are many different things, and it is impossible for "I" and "self" to be one. If they were one, then the aggregates etc. would become one, or "I" would become a name. And if you think that they are different, but still exist, then can they be pointed out like a sheep left after a horse and donkey have been removed? Or, even if not, there must necessarily be something that you yourself experience as the basis of designation, but because it is not observed, how can it exist if only these two pervasive ways are known for things? Like putting horns on a rabbit, there is not even a slight difference with the word "I". In general, as explained before, from their own side, the aggregates etc. are like the aggregates in a dream, taking oneself as other, like the sperm and blood of parents, taking other as oneself, taking many as one, taking what does not exist as existing, if it is something that is not established, then just as using a flower in the sky as the basis of designation for the son of a barren woman does not prove that the son exists. The Entering [the Middle Way] says: "By stating in order to make the unestablished established, it does not make this unestablished established." Like that. Therefore, just like selflessness, clinging to the aggregates is also a delusion. The Advice on How to Generate [Wisdom] says: "I or self is not existent, but it is a delusion that arises from clinging to these aggregates." And, the five aggregates that have been grasped are encompassed by the two, body and mind, so it is shown that it is not one with the self. The same [text] says: "The body is not the self, because the flesh and bones etc. are like an outer wall composed of the great elements. Mind is also not the self, because it has no substance." And, the Engaging in Bodhisattva Deeds also says: "Teeth, hair, nails are not the self." And so on. The six consciousnesses are also not the self. The mind of the past and future, is not the self, because it does not exist. But if the mind that is born now is the self, then when it ceases, there is also no self. That is, if there is no "I", then what is the object of the clinging of the mind that is born together, thinking "this is I"? It is not because there is an object to be grasped, but because the mind has become accustomed to taking the aggregates as the object and generating the thought of "I", like a rope being mistaken for a snake, it is the view of the collection of destructibles.
