Even if seven suns appear together, eventually the ashes will be scattered by the wind and turn into emptiness. Why would I think that my bubble-like body will not perish? As it says in the "Letter to a Friend": The earth, Mount Sumeru, the ocean, and the seven suns, when burned, even these sentient beings will turn to ashes. What need is there to mention extremely fragile humans? Second, from "the inner essence" to "not dying." Similarly, now on this earth, whether good or bad, high or low, all humans and animals, etc., none can remain without dying within a hundred years. Do beings who lived more than a hundred years ago still exist? Likewise, from the highest peak to the lowest hell, is there anyone who was born and has not died, whom you have seen, heard, or doubted? No. As it says in the "Collection of Sayings": A king with seven precious things, and other small kings, ministers, practitioners, Brahmins, householders, etc., all these beings are impermanent, like experiences in a dream. As it is said: Under the earth, on the earth, above the earth, have you seen anyone who was born and has not died? Have you heard of them? Or do you doubt it? Therefore, what reason do I, a small person, have to think that I will not die? I will die soon, I must think like that. Third, from "facing death" to "no help." In general, when death arrives, nothing other than Dharma can be a refuge in the afterlife and the bardo. As it is said: Here, fathers, mothers, friends, relatives, and family, cannot be a refuge. Sons and daughters are also not protectors. Other than possessing merit, there are no other worldly saviors. In particular, the fear of death cannot be avoided through sects and armies. Moreover, everything will be left behind. Even having the wealth of Vaishravana cannot deceive death. Even having the clothes of the gods, even having the food of nectar, even having a beautiful appearance, even having eloquent speech, even having swift steps, even having heroic strength, even having medicine and mantras, there is no help at all. As it says in the "Vinaya Sutra": Even a hero cannot save, neither can a king, a disciplined one, an ascetic, karma, or diligence.

With diligence and effort, vast retinues, and great wisdom, how can one escape from death? And, Brahma, Indra, Vishnu, the maker of darkness, evil sounds, and the blue-necked youth, even they cannot avert death. Ultimately, from the terminator, medicines, all mantras and armies, gods and protectors, dependent arising, wealth and relatives cannot protect. Thinking in this way, meditate on impermanence. Third (Fourth Examination), meditating on impermanence by thinking that time does not stop, especially from... examination. Between. Especially since death is common to all beings, is there still a fault because it is uncertain? Know that uncertainty itself is the place of destruction. If it is certain, then there is certainty in between, and there will be no fault. However, young age and absence of disease are of no use at all. There is an end to life, there is no increase, there is no certainty that it is only this long, there is no anticipation, there is no certainty of dying in this place, there is no certainty and anticipation of dying from this cause. In order. The Sutra of Auspicious Night says: Who knows if they will die tomorrow (know examination)? Today, one must strive to do it. The great army of the Lord of Death and, are you friends? And, the Sutra of Good Arms says: Which direction of the earth is my final destination? It should be known that it is unpredictable. And, the scriptures say: Some die from overeating, some die from medicine. What more to say about unfavorable conditions? Therefore, nothing is certain. And, the Garland of Birth Stories says: At the moment of first entering the womb, life does not increase, it only decreases. And, many men and women, even those in their prime, will die. So, to say that these people are young, what is the use of the confidence of the living? Some die in the womb, likewise, some at birth, likewise, some while running, some young, some old, some in their prime. Gradually, they pass away quickly, like ripe fruits falling. Measuring in this way, contemplate the various aspects of impermanence. Fourth (Fifth Examination), the measure of continuous arising is, day and night... repeat. At all times, not even for a moment.
