There are also cases of exhaustion. For example, for a person who possesses the three dharmas of the arising of thögal, it is like losing one's way in the path of an ordinary person, or losing one's way in the path of a noble one. Without relying on the manifest increase and reaching the peak, it is the exhaustion of thögal, or the exhaustion of supreme wisdom all at once. Secondly, explaining the specific ways of exhaustion, there is the exhaustion of the nature of appearance, the exhaustion of the nature of emptiness, and the explanation of other categories of qualities. First, the so-called "exhaustion" refers to the exhaustion of the habitual tendencies of appearance in a body where there is nothing, such as the impure, substantial body of flesh and blood made up of coarse and subtle elements, the illusory body that appears occasionally, and the deity body of the union of learning. When this is exhausted, the colored sense faculties and the sources of exhaustion, as well as the subtle particles of objects and the pure elements, are also exhausted. When these two are exhausted, the proliferation of mental concepts that cling to them is also exhausted. When this is exhausted, the subtle impurities of the nature of arising from all the afflictions of attachment and aversion, the parts of the seeds, are also exhausted. When these are exhausted, these objects of purification, the conditioned and characterized tenets of the actions of happiness and suffering, the parts of meditation, and the mental meditation together with the appearance of objects, are also exhausted. This is the time when all that is abandoned and the antidotes are exhausted, and therefore it is also called the exhaustion of the nature of reality in the explanation of the term. At that time, all deluded appearances are exhausted into the self-radiance of the nature of reality, becoming the appearance of a completely pure realm. This is also called the result of the exhaustion of the dharmas of the path. Therefore, in the "Vast Expanse," it says, "From experience, the senses, the collection of thoughts, and all the deluded clinging to words are exhausted." In the "Consequence," it says, "The appearance of the exhaustion of the nature of reality is from the emptiness of the appearance of experience, the body is exhausted, the senses and objects are also exhausted, liberated from the delusion of the collection of thoughts, and separated from the words of the subject." In the "Self-Arisen Purity of Reality," it says, "When the elements are purified, the coarse ceases, and when the limits of particles and atoms cease, not even a small part remains. When the afflictions are purified, delusion and non-conceptual clinging do not remain, and latent tendencies and complete arising, not even a part of a particle remains. Thus, when coarse and subtle are purified, the five aggregates gradually become subtle, and when the body of the four elements is exhausted, everything is the wisdom complete body. Non-conceptual samadhi abides in its own place, because it has transcended artificial dharmas."

The Dharma does not reside in words. Thus it is said. The second is, self-appearing, unfabricated, reversed. Thus it is said. When the subtle and coarse channels and winds are exhausted, the mind and mental events are also exhausted. The radiance of the appearance of body and wisdom reaches fullness, like a full moon, and is exhausted and abides in the appearance of the primordially pure inner space, which is called the appearance of the Dharmakaya or the self-appearance of Dharmata. From that very text: "The Dharmata of cause and effect is..." etc., as previously cited, arises from the cause of the exhausted wind. In essence, on the ground of inseparable essence, nature, and compassion, the ground appearance reverses, which is the reversal itself. Therefore, the pure elements dissolve into the light-channels, into the spontaneously accomplished jewel-channels, and the elements dissolve into the mother. Thoughts and the alaya are cut off together, abiding in constant samadhi, swirling in the wisdom realm. Wisdom moves in the sky, and for the appearance of as-it-is wisdom, there is no thought or fixation, and the eye of wisdom opens wide. The nature of awareness is stabilized, and from then on, one gains the confidence of not being confused. In Kunsel it says: "By the elements dissolving into the mother, signs are liberated in their own place. By dissolving into the wisdom realm, it shows that strength and power dissolve into the ground. By wisdom swirling in the sky, it shows the self-clarity of the three kayas and wisdom. By awareness stabilizing in its own place, it shows that the intention does not change." And, in the instructions of Dumdum Trik it says: "The appearance of as-it-is wisdom is the exhaustion of Dharmata." Thus it is said. The way the elements dissolve into the mother is also, in Rabjam it says: "By the appearance of the exhaustion of all dharmas, all object-appearances are nakedly liberated. By emptiness grasping the limit of emptiness, the clinging to tenets is cut off at once. Samsara and nirvana are non-dual. All elements are purified in their own place. The appearance of water is stainless. It is the great pervasive emptiness. The appearance of fire is self-born, and the great self-luminous emptiness is found. The appearance of wind is self-pacified, and the great moving emptiness is found. The appearance of space is primordially pure, and the emptiness of the pure realm is found." Thus it is said. The way the body elements cease is also, in Klongsel it says: "Thus, after the body elements cease, the contaminated aggregates do not appear, and in this very life, one manifestly attains enlightenment." Thus it is said. The exhaustion of tenets and the Dharma of the path is also, in Rabjam it says: "In the appearance of the exhaustion of the Dharmadhatu, view and action are forever."
