There is no other cause or condition for liberation that contradicts other agents. Therefore, with the confidence of knowing that one is born liberated from the very beginning, there is no need to hope or doubt about fluctuations; merely in the natural unfolding of reality, the three—arising, abiding, and liberation—should all be sealed and bound within the state of primordial purity. As the Great Garuda says: "Without cause, self-liberated, not relying on conditions, Impartial, self-purifying, this view has no 'is'. Hatred, desire, and all extremes, the three obstacles are cleared. Appearance and awareness, the great spontaneous sealing descends. Self-appearance, free from elaboration, bound between cause and condition." 7. Fourth, the view of practicing great staring liberation is: In appearance and awareness, at the very moment of seeing the movement of staring, without altering it with the mind or cutting it off with appearance, one rests in the staring state and focuses. Because one does not fixate on anything, the mother and child of reality meet and are liberated. This is trained through two methods of training: by looking at all phenomena with the eye of wisdom, thereby cutting off the elaboration of the essential point of emptiness and resting; and for someone with cataracts, when seeing with the sensory staring of a bubble-like eye, one focuses on the place of seeing, rests in the place of focusing, and in the place of resting, no other intervening awareness arises, so that one is liberated when the seeing vanishes. The actual way of sealing and binding here is: from between the appearance of objects and the meeting of empty awareness, one binds by holding the essence of awareness. As the Great Garuda says: "Staring liberation, self-purifying, complete liberation from extremes. What is free from extremes, the two are self-illuminating. Effortless great expanse, the great unlabored sealing. Body, speech, effortless, bound there between appearance and emptiness." Fifth, the way to protect the great single liberation fruit is: All phenomena of samsara and nirvana are not separate from the single awareness, so all the liberations of skill and play empty the boundaries of diverse multiplicities. And liberation within that awareness is: In the midst of the gathering of object, sense, and attention, without thinking about these, with the confidence of recognizing the single awareness, all of object and mind go towards vast liberation, and the rainbow-like Dharmakaya appears, without sealing or binding. As the Great Garuda says: "Wisdom devoid of appearance and emptiness, Not grasping, not abandoning, not defiling, abiding in its own state. Who strikes the three with the one? Not true, not false, the way of abiding is clear." And, "Uncontrived, natural, original, the sealing of heat, Transforming into its own state, bound between samsara and nirvana."

Thus, this method of liberation is supreme, as stated in the Tantra of Subduing the Hostile Forces of the Asuras: "Knowing the conduct of self-liberation." Likewise, if one grasps the single root of awareness, then within that state, the five aspects of self-liberation, which are the illusions of skill and play, arise simultaneously. It is merely recognizing this point. Therefore, the implicit meaning here is that it is sufficient to focus on severing the clinging to external objects of consciousness and liberating them individually, without separately distinguishing them. As the Tantra of the Stacked Lamps states: "Thus, one liberating the other, self-liberation, original liberation, complete liberation, immediate liberation, ultimate liberation, unsurpassed." Third, the practice of skill has three aspects: Self-liberation of the five poisons: Whatever of the five afflictive emotions arises, by releasing it into its own natural state, it is purified into ungrasping original liberation. Self-liberation of the five senses: Whatever grasping of the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and body arises, by mixing it with the great natural state of the dharmata above it and leaving it there, it dawns as ground liberation. Self-liberation of the six aggregates: Whatever acceptance or rejection arises in relation to the six objects of the five senses together with the mind, by recognizing the three—object, faculty, and consciousness—as the three kayas and releasing them into that state, it goes as vast liberation. The Victorious Longchenpa said: "The three poisons, five senses, six aggregates, and objects, whatever arises, leave it resting on the ground, original liberation, abiding in its own nature. Without abandoning, without dwelling, liberated in the nature of reality. Without attachment, the Victorious One, ungrasping, arises." This is the meaning. Fourth, abandoning disputes: This view of self-liberation is well-known to all the Sakya, Gelug, Kagyu, and Nyingma schools. However, some careless speakers say: "One has not become accustomed to the antidote to desire, such as ugliness, nor is it prevented by the definitive understanding of the great wisdom that individually realizes emptiness, so the afflictions and grasping at self are self-liberated." By leaving it in a state of indifference, it is difficult even to suppress the head, so how could it be uprooted?" They mock in this way. But this is simply not understanding the key point. All thoughts and mental events are definitively established in the wheel of dharmata through the door of seeking faults. If one does not become uprooted by remaining equally in suchness, then why would abandoning and antidote, both of which are propagating the illusion of being the same substance, not be uprooted? Dharmakirti said in the Tantra of the Two-Without-Distinction Victorious Banner: "Great discriminating ignorance.
