Sometimes, I think that the ego-grasping and the body are mixed and pervasive like water and milk, but it is not so. Just as the objects pervaded are different, the pervader will also become different. If that is the case, then it becomes that there are hundreds of thousands of ego-graspings equal to the number of atoms in the body existing at the same time, and it would be too specific. Or, if you think that the grasping has run away because it is fast, because it is self-continuing, it is also necessary to specify that it has crossed the atoms, and since both the top and bottom experience the tickling of the nails at the same time, it is determined that it is not running away, and when the location and place are not found, looking back at the mind that grasps as self, determining what the appearance and characteristics are, etc., nothing is seen, but emptiness, self-luminosity, and unobstructedness arise, recognizing it as the great self-existing nature of the Sambhogakaya, and one should be certain about this. As it says in "Vast Expanse of Clarity": If the location of the mind is not found, that emptiness and clarity, free from identification, in the Sambhogakaya, also recognize emptiness and clarity, unobstructedness. Constantly abide in that state. Similarly, when the previous conceptual thought of the mind ceases and appears to be non-existent, one should examine how the goer, the place to be gone to, and the manner of going are. Does it dissolve outward into the object, or does it subside inward into the mind, or does it cease from the middle? When thinking, one does not think that it dissolves outward into the object, if it appears to sink into the mind like a wave dissolving into water, then it is necessary to specify that the sinker and the place of sinking exist at the same time. Also, if one sees that the previous state has changed into the later state, for example, like iron changing and appearing as gold, but if one measures the self-character of the changing mind, since nothing can be identified, it is like the horn of a rabbit changing and becoming the child of a barren woman, which is impossible. Moreover, the changing mind cannot become the later state until the previous state has ceased, and after it has ceased, the later state is not the previous state, because it is a destroyed non-entity. Like this, cutting off the root, one should recognize that the all-pervading wisdom beyond mind, free from the goer and the place to be gone to, is the natural expression of the Nirmanakaya. As it says in "Vast Expanse of Clarity": There is no goer, no place to be gone to, no maker, therefore the nature of mind has no birth or death, and it is also recognized in the Nirmanakaya. Because of these, searching for the mind with the mind at all times becomes very busy, and the mind itself always specifies that it exists.

Even with various causes for refutation and establishment, now, when searching for oneself, it cannot be found. Therefore, there is no object to be indicated as "this," and there is no grasping object of the mind. In the moment of searching for a place to abide, if one cannot ascertain a stable state of existence that includes both the support and what is supported, then it is self-empty. Whether from the perspective of existence, non-existence, permanence, annihilation, oneness, or otherness, one cannot determine its essence. Therefore, awareness becomes spacious in tracelessness. The ultimate point of this state of no object and mind liberation is as stated in the Great Root Tantra of Body, Speech, and Mind: 'Essence, self-arisen, is nothing at all. Initially, movement has no origin. In the middle, movement and thought have no dwelling place. Finally, movement and thought have no destination. With no origin, the bond of the base is severed. Without an object, without support, there is nothing at all.' Secondly, whatever is remembered and moves... meditate like that. Thus, by cutting the root, the mind stops, and meditation naturally arises in the continuum. All appearances of the apprehended and the apprehender, all thoughts of remembering and moving, become spacious like ice melting into water. There is no attachment or obstruction to any appearance, it is utterly clear. All the afflictions that bind one's own continuum are liberated without needing to be untied. The state of mind and thoughts constantly abides in that great self-liberation. Or, there will arise a knowing of the fault of being blackened by the defilements of the apprehended and the apprehender, and imputation. Until that knowing arises, one must meditate through alternating examination and abiding, thereby purifying the mind. Therefore, it is said in the Vajra Tent Tantra: 'From the vajra of mind arises, sentient beings of various natures. The mind is blackened by the defilements of beings, through its own thoughts. Therefore, one must constantly strive to purify the vajra of mind.' And it is said: 'By intensely stimulating the vajra of mind, meditating on the nature of mind is enlightenment.' Thus, if we were to name the meditation that naturally arises in the continuum, it would be without any biased object of attachment, and it is not a liberation performed to counteract being bound by the snare of thoughts, so it is called self-liberation. Therefore, this is what is to be practiced in the union of day and night in the Great Perfection meditation. As it is said in the Kuntuzangpo Illuminating Awareness Tantra: 'Meditation is self-liberation without grasping.' And in the Self-Arisen Bliss Wheel Tantra
