Rigpa is free from grasping and clinging, from the vast expanse of the sky, from this very present awareness, is the bodhicitta free from grasping and clinging. Thus it is said. Mind is the intellect that clings to various forms of acceptance and rejection of objects, to things desired and undesired. Whereas wisdom is beyond attachment, aversion, acceptance, and rejection, it is the deluded conceptuality, the object of attachment and aversion, free from the conceptualization of acceptance and rejection. Thus it is said. Furthermore, mind is temporarily arisen dependent on objects, while rigpa is self-arisen, beyond causes and conditions, one with primordial wisdom and vastness. Mind distinguishes boundaries with the presence or absence, good or bad, right or wrong of objects, while wisdom is free from boundaries. Moreover, distinction, non-distinction, non-clinging, self-luminous, unceasing, spontaneously accomplished, are the five characteristics of rigpa. Primordial wisdom, primordial vastness, emptiness unchanging, the source of qualities, stainless, unobstructed transparency, emptiness free from characteristics, the seven special qualities of the Dharmakaya free from the extremes of elaboration, etc., should be understood as explained by Padmakara in "The Clear Meaning of Freedom from Elaborations." Secondly, the distinctions of places, etc., should be understood from "The Key Instructions on Clear Light." Thirdly, by separating and introducing the awareness of the three times, one realizes the Buddha's own nature, which is not born from the mind. In "The Clear Meaning of Freedom from Elaborations," it says: Separating and introducing the three times, in the mindstream of one person, although there are countless inconceivable numbers, they can be summarized into four types of awareness. Namely, the awareness of the three times and the awareness of timeless conceptualization. Thus it is said. These are the three awarenesses of the past, future, and present, which are the dharmas of samsara. The nature of these three, equality, selflessness, liberation from clinging, uncreated, uncorrected, unchanged, primordially existent, the nature of freedom from elaboration, uninterrupted and luminous, one should recognize this. That is, without conceptualization, self-knowing, self-abiding, walpo, without grasping and clinging, haddewa, without obstruction, sallewa, without cause and condition, it is self-arisen. Therefore, from this, liberation from self-grasping, the three times, haddewa, wallewa, sallewa, from this self-arisen wisdom, is self-arisen without cause and condition. Thus it is said. In particular, recognizing the state of the present awareness, the union of appearance and emptiness, inexpressible, is called the intention of possessing the four kayas. Emptiness, clarity, the union of

Two abilities, four gatherings. From the *Source of Qualities*: "In this very present awareness, With faith and confidence, ignorance vanishes. Recognize the four kayas complete." For example, like the fruit of the eye, Clear and bright, grasped by mindfulness. *Yerewa*, awareness slows. Self-awareness, without attachment, confidence clear. Like the cloudless autumn sky, Open and vast, without beginning or end. Because no thought is abandoned, There is no sinking, dullness, or elaboration. Like the sun free from eclipse, bright and clear, Calm and still, without movement. Blissful, non-conceptual, continuously present. Therefore, self-arisen, without change. Like a spotless mirror reflecting a face, Clear and empty, without substance. Just that alone is the *dharmadhatu*." In addition, explaining the categories of mind and wisdom, and explaining the definitions: The number of minds is the eight consciousnesses, Wisdom is distinguished by reversing three. From the *Tantra of the Gathering of Intentions*: "Mind is the eight consciousnesses, Like the unobstructed miracles of the sky." And from the *Prasangika*: "The wisdom that abides in the ground, Grasping characteristics and pervading objects." As it is said. The definition of mind is: The mind that has grasping and being grasped with respect to objects. The definition of wisdom is established from the aspect of originally abiding in the ground. In essence, it is awareness without grasping, the great self-illuminating clarity without objects, Without ground, without root. Thinking about the definition, the object of remembrance arises: "Where does the mind dwell? With what does it dwell? Where does it dwell? Why does it dwell?" And: "The definition is the meaning of originally abiding, Such is the wisdom that abides." Thus, the benefit of distinguishing between mind and wisdom is: By seeing the nature of wisdom as it is, from then on, just by not forgetting and not being distracted, one will not be stained by all the faults of ignorance, but will be pure from the ground. And the root afflictions are liberated from the ground. One will also not be stained by the causes of accumulating bad karma, habits, and bad results, but will abide in the state of Buddhahood from this very moment. In the *Tantra of the Wisdom Space*, the essence of all the definitive meanings of Dzogchen: "The definitive meaning of Samantabhadra's realization, Like the sun rising in the expanse of the sky. Primordially unstained by the faults of ignorance, Knowing and realizing without relying on scriptures. From the awareness that has not yet become Buddha, Arises self-born wisdom." And from the *Wheel of Bliss*:
