There are eleven. That is, regarding the meaning of emptiness and dependent arising, contemplate with the mind. Also, if the mind wanders, settle in stillness (shamatha) and contemplate a little with the mind. If discursive thoughts arise, contemplate non-discrimination with the mind. Regarding the meaning of non-discrimination, contemplate without distraction with the mind. Also, contemplate the clear and firm insight (vipassanā) with the mind. At that time, contemplate the union of stillness and insight, indivisible in clarity and emptiness, with the mind. Regarding this, contemplate the reason for strongly grasping the mind. Contemplate the reason for stillness. Contemplate the reason for insight. Contemplate the reason for union. Contemplate the reason for equanimity. Through these means, for the cause of liberation from the realm of stillness as the basis, and for the cause of liberation from the wisdom of insight, the practice of the two bodies is accomplished in union. By becoming slightly accustomed, the generation stage and completion stage, etc., all the practices of the Vajrayana should not be defiled by the movement of discursive thoughts. And, for purifying self-grasping and arrogance, and attachment to deities, this is profound and ultimate. The union of clarity and emptiness, free from elaboration, of insight here, is also the great emptiness or the actual cause like a vajra, therefore it is connected to the completion stage, appearing from within, and also becomes a condition for the deity form of union. The guru compassionately instructs, therefore there is the wisdom of hearing. Oneself determines, therefore there is seeing and abiding accordingly. If one does not rely on these, but pours awareness universally, one cannot see, one will err, and because doubt is not eliminated, regression will occur, therefore it is very profound. The subsequent increase is: one's own yoga is also combined with circumstances, that is, in any circumstance that arises, one should repeat in the emptiness of the recollection of knowing as illusion and dream, and have greater decisiveness in insight. For the increase of stillness without reliance, again, mainly holding the unwavering natural abiding, without any discrimination in the mind, with the mind possessing the wheel of samsara, in the realm of emptiness, with the awareness of no realm, the power of meditation-born similarity does not harm, and also, by abiding without obstructing the senses, the eyes and clairvoyance, etc., will naturally arise. And, for the thought of the empty realm, in its essence, there is no substance, clearly realizing selflessness, the meditation-born similarity does not rely on anything and increases. Also, if one relies, one should practice skill in insight.

Ah! If scattered, practicing calm abiding will improve. Also, for any situation where there is no calm abiding and unclear insight, it is said to practice wind-energy. But here, those are placed in the practice of the intermediate state of meditation, which is different from here, and should only be regarded as the difference between the support and the supported. However, the stable abiding place of the mind of the support is said to be calm abiding, and placing a little on top of the experience of its nature, the complete knowledge of emptiness, is the wisdom of insight. This samadhi of the union of calm and insight is called the support that is in accordance with the reasoning of the cause-and-effect vehicle. Secondly, as a continuation of that, practicing the instructions, in general, there are the instructions for practicing the six intermediate states through the door of intention, and specifically, practicing through the door of the path that corresponds to each. From the first of the six, practicing the intermediate state of the birth place through intention, there are two: practicing the appearance of objects as emptiness and practicing the awareness of the subject as emptiness. The first is: first hang a mirror in front of yourself, and let all the pillars and property of your house appear in it, lie on your back, and look at it intentionally with your eyes, thinking like this: Ema! From this appearance, choose the best, beautiful and pleasing, something that makes the eyes feel happy, and by repeatedly getting used to it, the thought of form arises correctly, and at that time, thinking that these are mine, break the thought of clinging to them as mine. For a while, even if a slight thought of attachment arises, or does not arise, say: Alas, I am confused! This thing has unimaginable differences between top, bottom, and middle. Where am I attached to this thing? Or thinking what this thing is like, also touch it with your hand, but the sense of touch is not on this thing. Now the basis of appearance is in this mirror. Where is the appearance, inside or outside? The image and shape and color are definitely there, but just because there is no touch, who says it doesn't exist? Still thinking that it definitely exists, and being very able to look, and not being distracted by other images even a little, there will definitely be a consistency in the image, which is easy to come by. Thus, when repeatedly practicing through the speculation of analytical thought, this is an image, therefore, the untruth becomes obvious.
