Like the falling of hairs seen due to cataracts, and like the appearance of yellowness on a conch shell, the phenomenal world of samsara appears while being empty, and is empty while appearing. This is the nature of the great Madhyamaka union, and if one understands this great freedom from elaboration that cannot be separated from it, it is said that one has realized the view. Otherwise, if one cuts off this appearance and pretends to have a mind free from elaboration, it is nihilism because if there is no appearance, there is cessation. Therefore, one should be certain that it is a definitive truth of the nature of non-affirming negation, which is one aspect of reality. Even the saying that "the apprehension of thinking 'it does not exist' must be in accordance with the meaning" is not in accordance with the meaning, because the meaning is freedom from elaboration, not just non-existence. Emptiness that abandons appearance is the doctrine of the Tirthika Niyama school. Furthermore, if one clings to things as real and views them as permanent, one is close to the side of the Samkhya school. For them, the hammer that destroys both real and unreal things is these examples of illusion. If one asks what the difference is between merely understanding emptiness of inherent existence and this, it is that they only posit that appearance exists but is not real. However, they do not realize the great freedom from elaboration of union, where appearance is established as emptiness, and emptiness does not obstruct appearance. Therefore, there is a difference and also others. Secondly, to bring it down to the essential point, all the appearances of samsara are the union of appearance and emptiness, where things appear even though they do not exist. The state of samsara is that the body and wisdom are spontaneously accomplished. Therefore, this is also the union of appearance and emptiness. In short, not even a little bit of dharma that is not the union of appearance and emptiness is established. Some people say that it is self-emptiness where nothing exists and argue with others. Some people say that it is the only existing permanent thing and argue with others. This is also the spontaneously accomplished state of the image of the non-existent appearance of mistaken thought of samsara. Because of emptiness, it is also other-emptiness. The nature of spontaneously accomplished dharmata, the key point that its essence is emptiness, is also self-emptiness. If it is self-emptiness, it is impossible for appearance to arise without obstruction, so it does not become a permanent reality of just body and wisdom. Establishing it as self-emptiness has no special characteristics on its own. If body and wisdom are impermanent, it is extremely inappropriate. If it is other-emptiness, then the essence does not abide in emptiness, so even the statement is not established. Therefore, the tradition of the ancestors, the ultimate intention of the Buddha, is not on any side of existence or non-existence, affirmation or negation, permanence or annihilation, one or many.

It should also be known that it is not established. That is because the body and wisdom appear without obstruction, hence cutting off the extreme of nihilism; since its essence is established as emptiness, hence cutting off the extreme of eternalism; the realm of the Buddha and the possessor of the realm are non-dual, although the knowledge in the manner of self-awareness of wisdom is not interrupted; but that mind is not impermanent either; it cannot be established as impermanent in that realm, it is something that is certain; because of impermanence, the realm of sentient beings cannot be established as the knowledge of the omniscient knowledge of the Buddha, where the two appearances are absent, but it is not that it exists, just as there is a way of knowing, the self-appearing enjoyment body is said to possess the five certainties, and the key point that there is no difference in meaning except for the difference in words of "other-emptiness"; the grasping of this union of appearance and emptiness, and the unobstructed ultimate body and wisdom that are inseparable from emptiness and the realm of reality, are impossible to interrupt until the end of the realm of reality; if it is interrupted, it will collapse into the side of mere emptiness, so it is also eternal; in the face of ordinary beings, at the very time when it appears to be born, there is actually no birth; the key points such as the very time when it appears to cease should be referred to this; by grasping with each opposing side, attachment becomes distant from the side of the Buddha's intention; therefore, the nature of the six states of intermediate existence, the appearance of body and wisdom, and the emptiness of the two truths of ultimate reality are inseparable, the realm of emptiness of selflessness of self and other, the appearance of emptiness of the self-born wisdom that is originally inseparable, is different in terms of opposition, but apart from that, it will not thoroughly understand the reality that is free from elaboration; there is attachment to each philosophical system, please properly determine and cut off the obstacles of this Great Perfection; thus, after determining that the nature of all phenomena of samsara and nirvana is established as emptiness, the meaning of what is attained is called realization of the reality of non-existence; while being empty, after determining that the appearance of body and wisdom is spontaneously accomplished, the meaning of what is attained is called realization of the reality of spontaneous accomplishment; and after determining that those two are also integrated into one great self-born wisdom, the meaning of what is attained is called realization of the reality of oneness; originally, there is no need to abandon samsara, it is pure from the beginning; there is no need to accomplish nirvana, it is spontaneously accomplished, in the nature of the one reality.
