Furthermore, does the "I" of the dream body pervade everything or not? If it pervades everything, then will one aspect of "I," namely the daytime body, cease to exist? If it does not pervade everything, then shouldn't its pleasures and pains be closely embraced? Or could it be that this too does not pervade everything? Since each particle of the body that pervades all bodies is distinct, and since each of those pervades, why isn't that "I" also many distinct ones? Why is this not understood? It is impossible for one to pervade many. If one thinks that it is like a grain of salt pervading a cup of water, that is unreasonable. Because the salty taste of one lick of the tongue cannot fill the entire cup, it should be considered that there are many very fine particles. If one thinks that "I" pervades because it moves quickly, that is very unreasonable. Because one does not experience crossing the particles in between, and because one experiences the touch of fingernails simultaneously at the top and bottom, and because there is no path to go empty from within, and because the body and mind do not separate in the place where one goes outside, it is also unreasonable. If it does not reside in the body, then empty speech is like an echo in the mountains, and the mind's emptiness is like a rabbit sleeping on a goat's horn, which is ridiculous. Even so, if it resides in the body, one should not cling to speech and mind as "I," and if one clings, that is also unreasonable. Second, examining the mode of existence: However, if that "I" still exists, then examining whether it exists as one with or separate from the body and so on. If it exists as one, that is unreasonable. Because when the body dies, the "I" will cease to exist, or it will become immortal. Or, if "I" is one with a body like a corpse, then the corpse will not eat, and "I" is one with something considered non-existent, then the body will become non-existent. What is called the body is one with many and countless, therefore, "I" will become countless, and being one with the partless "I," the body will disappear, and because it arises from accidental causes such as the parents' sperm and blood, therefore "I" will become something that arises accidentally, and it is not one with the momentary stream of thoughts, and the momentary sound of speech, if examined, those will not be established either, so it is unreasonable. However, if one thinks it is one with the mind, then one must be able to identify which one it is one with among intelligence, dharma, feeling, thought, and intention, and even if identified, one must identify which one it is one with among the preceding and following moments. Even so, it is merely imputed on the aggregate of body and mind.

If such a thought arises, then I would cease to exist, because distinguishing by name is like a rosary. If it is said that this is different, just as everything called a tree refers to a tree, then, if that is the case, it is merely a name, and if the general name "tree" has a basis for distinction, then things can appear, but if there is no clear target, what is the reason? Therefore, a tree is also a general name for many things, but because it is not an entity, it will not become a whole. Although names, sounds, and general concepts, these non-entities, are like the horns of a horse, and nothing can arise from them, the mere name "I" itself has no self-nature, and it is only because of the habit of calling the aggregates of body and mind "I" that the concept of "I" arises. For example, giving someone names like Guhya, Abhaya, Karma, etc., but these names themselves have nothing to do with him, it is only because of attachment to these names that a response is made. If you think that even if it is not one, it is different, that is very unreasonable. If it is different from the five aggregates, then on top of all the previous faults, firstly, there will be no relationship of continuity; secondly, there will be no feeling of pleasure and pain; creating wounds on the body and revealing secrets are meaningless to "I", just as the continuums of Devadatta and Yajnadatta are different. If you think that this is "my body", then was it given to you by someone else? Or is it your dwelling place? The former is not, because no one gave it, so it became taking what was not given; if the dwelling is like a house, then the fault is the same as before. If you don't know how it exists, but "I" exists, then is it inside or outside the body? Is it above or below? Is it put together? Does it exist as a friend or as a master? After examination and analysis, it is determined that there is no such situation, then some people, because of jealousy, tense their body and mind, feeling very surprised and strange, thereby generating views in their continuum, saying "I" exists, what if I harm you? But this is in front of the old man of the world, like no-self, determining the reason for the arising of self-grasping. If this phenomenon must stop immediately, don't you understand that this is leading the river to the surface of the water, thereby determining that all things do not exist? Or are you focusing on the meaning of Sunyata's words? Reason cannot refute it. Thirdly, it should be examined whether existence is its own essence or relies on the able one: the eye.
