Firstly, all mandalas are gathered into eight lineages, and since they are spontaneously accomplished as five lineages and one lineage, as a sign of gaining stability in whatever lineage, relics of that lineage and relics of the one lineage Vajradhara appear. The distinction is that from the burning remains, the sound and meaning of relics, or Śarīraṃ (ཤ་རཱི་རམ་,梵文天城体:शरीरं,梵文罗马拟音:śarīraṃ,meaning: body) are the relics of the Sugatas; similarly, Varīraṃ (བ་རཱི་རམ་,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:,meaning: ) is called the relics of the Vajra lineage; Churīraṃ (ཆུ་རཱི་རམ་,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:,meaning: ) is the jewel; Beruraṃ (བསེ་རུ་རམ་,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:,meaning: ) is the lotus; similarly, Yarīraṃ (ཉ་རཱི་རམ་,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:,meaning: ) is called the relics of the karma lineage. As it says in Rangshar: 'This also shows the lineage, namely the Vajra lineage relics and the Lotus relics, the Jewel relics and the Karma relics, likewise, they are said to be the relics of the Tathagatas.' Secondly, as a support: Why are supports placed? In order to lead others to rejoice in the path at the time of skillful Nirvana, and as an object of prostration and offering with faith, as a substitute for the body, and as a symbol of liberation from the burden of the five aggregates, supports are placed. From what are they placed? From flesh, blood, bones, limbs, and as a common support. As it says in Rangshar: 'After my Nirvana, in order to place relics as a support for the body, in order to generate the devotion of beings, in the supports of my aggregates, I place this great lineage of relics. In the support of flesh, I place Śarīraṃ (ཤ་རཱི་རམ་,梵文天城体:शरीरं,梵文罗马拟音:śarīraṃ,meaning: body), truly I place it; in the support of blood, I place Churīraṃ (ཆུ་རཱི་རམ་,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:,meaning: ), I place it in the support of hard Vajra; in the support of bones, I place Varīraṃ (བ་རཱི་རམ་,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:,meaning: ), I place it as a substitute for the Victorious One; in the support of limbs, I place Yarīraṃ (ཉ་རཱི་རམ་,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:,meaning: ), I place it very adorned; relics I place as my ornament, the body I place as my substitute, the essence extracted from the secret mantra, I place as a substitute for all the Victorious Ones.' Thirdly, the divisions are five, arising as symbols of the five result-dharmas. As it says in Tagdrol: 'Śarīraṃ (ཤ་རཱི་རམ་,梵文天城体:शरीरं,梵文罗马拟音:śarīraṃ,meaning: body) and Churīraṃ (ཆུ་རཱི་རམ་,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:,meaning: ), Varīraṃ (བ་རཱི་རམ་,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:,meaning: ) and Yarīraṃ (ཉ་རཱི་རམ་,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:,meaning: ), Pañcaraṃ (པཉྩ་རམ་,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:,meaning: ) and the fivefold relics.' As it says in Rangshar: 'The relics show five aspects.' Fourthly, the shape is: because of familiarity with the meaning of the profound secret mantra yoga, the single bindu of the three channels combined into one, symbolizing the attainment of the fruit of the Dharmakaya, is round. Likewise, in that it says: 'This is also such a teaching: the hard Vajra is separated from all destruction, a symbol of the fruit of the secret mantra condensed into one.'
