Secondly, from the pulse connecting the heart and lungs, which is like a straw tube, the awareness energy of the heart goes out and meets the wind without consciousness in the lungs, using the wind as a mount, it travels in the respective realms of the five senses. Thirdly, the life-pulse, that is, a path is opened from the side of the vertebrae, the tip connects to the left, and riding on the mount of breath, it travels in the nature of the impure threefold structure. This is because the mind's mount, the life-wind, travels in the life-pulse. Fourthly, the gate of desire, namely the mouth and the two nostrils, is the gate for the arising and entering of wind. Fifthly, it has the nature of the three realms of samsara, and is the grasping and apprehending of fabricated conceptualizations. Sixthly, that also, its essence is ignorance, and it is called mind, which abides as the basis for collecting all habitual tendencies, and it exists together with the mind that cognizes objects, and is the root of clinging to self. Eighty thousand afflictions and so on arise as various self-powers. Seventhly, the various feelings of pleasure, pain, and neutrality accumulate like the swirling of water in a bucket. Eighthly, various appearances of samsara and the evil destinies arise. Thus, in the Rangshar it says: The state of impurity exists in the self-continuum of all sentient beings, the impure threefold structure exists. This state is like this: between the heart and lungs, there also exists a threefold structure. That flows from the pulse. Life is the path arising from the pulse. The gate arises from the mouth and nostrils. From that arise eighty thousand (afflictions). Also, in the Vajrasattva Heart Mirror it says: Alas! For sentient beings who are controlled by life, afflictions and ignorance are mostly present. It depends on the form aggregate as a basis, and exists between the heart and lungs. That ignorance is not merely alone, it is called mind, which abides as the basis for collecting all habitual tendencies. There, it is called mind, which exists together with the (mind) that cognizes objects. These three uniting as one are called ignorance, and revolve in samsara. From that arise the five poisons and six (consciousnesses). Then eighty thousand afflictions arise. If you ask from where these arise, in the middle connecting the lungs and heart, the pulse called the life-pulse red pulse, travels upwards from inside like a straw tube, that is the vertebrae.

It runs upwards from the edge. It is connected to the small left pulse. All of them run riding on the horse of breath. It runs from the mouth and nose, from which various afflictions arise. In the 'Extensive Sutra' it says: The root channel of impure samsara, for sentient beings possessed by life, afflictions and ignorance are dominant. What is relied upon is the physical body, in the space between the lungs and heart, there is a pulse called the red life pulse, about the size of a small straw, pervaded by the basis of non-intelligence. That which is called 'mind' has attachment and aversion (hatred and judgment), that which is called 'intellect' has conceptualization, the ignorance that combines the three, runs with the five poisons and the three poisons. That pulse runs from the left vertebra, running from the small pulses on the left and right. That which is called 'breath' rides on the horse of wind, the door runs from the mouth and nose. From that, various faults arise, making the foundation stone of afflicted samsara. The sign is when the lungs are seduced at night, it is like red rays of light shining. It is taught as the entrance to the impure path. Thus it says. In the same it says: This which is called impure affliction, in the city of the lungs with great wind, ignorance, mind, and intellect, exist in three forms. That which is called 'ignorance', that confusion, obscures the nature of self-awareness. Mind obscures wisdom itself, intellect obscures the face of clear appearance. From that, the imprints of affliction, and the alaya itself and grasping and conception arise. Grasping and grasped arise in the five doorways, affliction is used for the five sufferings. Thus it says. Thirdly, incidentally, the distinction between that and wisdom is used to conclude, the distinction between the nature and characteristics of mind and wisdom, is extensively explained in 'Itself Clear Ornament' and 'Meaning Clear of Dharmata' etc. However, here, in order to clearly explain, the previously explained way of abiding of the pure threefold wisdom is summarized and explained clearly: support, place, path, connection, door, the light or ray arising from that appearance, object, time, going place, liberation place, metaphor, and eleven. The support is: the aggregate of form. The place is: in the center of the citta-ratna heart, the intention of Samantabhadra's gau box closing, in the center of the five lights, body and awareness abide inseparably. Wisdom abides in the skull of the head, in the form of a wrathful deity. The path is: arising, entering, and appearing from the four great special pulses and their basis, the great golden pulses. The connection is: from the heart to the eyes.
