Furthermore, Secret Lord! Buddhahood, which is uncreated, cannot be attained through created Dharma. Since Buddhahood is uncompounded, it cannot be attained through Dharma. So it is said. In the Extensive Sutra, it says: If one is not a Buddha from the beginning, even if one meditates, Buddhahood will not arise. If a willow is not gold, how can it be turned into gold by hammering? Thus, from the beginning, one is Buddha, from the beginning, one is enlightened. In the manifestation of self-nature, the Dharmakaya appears as a single bindu. The manifestation of self-nature abides in the great spontaneously accomplished wisdom. So it is said. Fourth, for this reason, since one is Buddha from the beginning, the signs and characteristics of that appear on the path. If one seeks the meaning of the direct seeing of the lamp, then nothing else is needed. With the reason of the self-nature that transcends Dharma, and with the reason of the Buddha's complete purity, the realized one abides in the manner of resting at ease. In the Self-Nature of the Buddha it says: The Buddha is beyond all Dharmas, and it is sufficient to recognize that one is free from all meditation, recitation, and effort. The Buddha's body is free from dust, so it is sufficient to do whatever one likes. It is sufficient for awareness to abide in a mass of light and appear. So it is said. Fifth, thus, the path that is self-luminous and inherent appears, and it appears in the bardo. At the time of one's own death, three signs appear, and in the bardo of Dharmata, six superknowledges and so on appear. From the superknowledge of a person who has attained liberation, compassion and emanation bodies, which benefit beings, naturally arise. In that very text it says: At the time of one's own death, recognize that three signs of the Buddha will appear. Buddhahood and the six superknowledges will naturally arise. Superknowledge will arise, and compassion will naturally arise. So it is said. Sixth, showing the validity of these appearances: Thus, the view of the self-luminous and manifest lamp appears, and all that comes with the Buddha's being or not being, and being sufficient, is because the two bodies have a basis that pervades self-luminosity. Otherwise, if the boundary of clarity and luminosity is cut off, it is said that there is no difference from the nihilistic view of the tirthikas. And it is said that even the ultimate result can be achieved, and this also saves one from falling into the abyss where the Buddha, who has destroyed the Lord of Death with the Dharma of destruction, cannot exist. In the Tantra of Cremating Ashes it says: Without body, with body.

His clear essence is the reason for the arising of the body; the pure realm is contained in the heart, the reason for the light of self-nature is the supreme wisdom of compassion; the qualities of wisdom are thorough; the reason for the lamp of thorough wisdom is the activity, the eye of the one path, and the reason for the clairvoyance is immaculate; the three bodies of the ultimate fruit are the reason for non-retrogression. Absorbed into the all-pervading light. Thus it is. Third, binding in the bond of conclusion, the distinction of the wisdom of the path-like mirror, of the two bonds of the concluding vase body: The first is: What is said by the path-like mirror wisdom self-illuminatingly is only the clarity of awareness, not the form body of the great assembly of secret mantras of complete perfection; this is to show that the meaning of the spontaneously accomplished two bodies abides in itself, as it is said in the Tantra of Lhamin Yuldok: Like the wisdom of a mirror, and the great wisdom of emptiness and clarity, the same, the same, the same, difficult to examine. Thus it is. The second is: All of the four or five bodies also have a triple layer of body, light, and lamp, like the body of the inner clear vase; like the butter lamp of the light intermediate clear vase; the lamp is self-illuminating like a peacock's egg or like the gathering of the surface of the wisdom mirror, that is, even though there is a complete body inside the vase, it is obscured by the vase and does not appear, but it is not without a body, just as now in the coarse and subtle shells of sentient beings' three doors, the mandala of the three bodies of the Buddha is complete without being mixed, and is spontaneously accomplished without being diminished or degraded, but even though it is not seen, it exists, and the characteristics and examples of the purity of the light intermediate clear Dharma nature are deep and clear, existing beyond color, for example, the light of the lamp inside the vase is burning but does not appear outwardly, and the compassion and wisdom lamp spontaneously accomplishes and enters the thigle, the peacock chick that has not yet given rise to the wind, because the eggshell has not been broken, it does not appear outwardly, but inside there is the basis of light and thigle. These are the ultimate state of the Dharma of the inner clear youthful vase body; as it is said in the Rabjam: The essence of the Buddha is the Dharmakaya, dwells in the center of one's own heart, the body is the inner clear vase body, the light is like the butter lamp of the vase, the wisdom is like the egg of the peacock, the five bodies are the wisdom Dharma.
